We're waiting to see whether our youngest son has a footie match on 6 Jan before we book (it's semi of Lancashire Cup) - got to get through quarters first. If they get beat I'll be booking on 9th Dec for a week in the New Year.
All the reviews sound great

Myself and family are staying here this october half term (I am really looking forward to it, just have to cope with the summer holidays first!)
We are staying all inclusive and I was wondering if anyone knew if this hotel offered picnic/pack lunches when going out for the day? I know of some hotels that offer this, not sure about the Castillo though.
We have also got a great deal on car hire so already booked that, so any recomendations of places to visit would be great.
If anyone has been here this time of year also whats the weather like?
4 months and 2 days!!!!!
however, weather - it will be hot, the winds which are normal for the island tend to drop in september/october.
where to go - the sand dunes on the edge of corralejo, the oasis park in la lajita is a must, a whole day out. also take the car up over the hills and get to see some of the real fuerteventura away from the tourist area, its an island of contrasts.
enjoy, i'm soo jealous.
Thats great!
hi they did do picnics when we were there last year. Its in a nice area we were there in January but it was still hot but very quiet. Carol

where going to the san jorge in august staying a.i i paid £2100 for 11 nights 2 adults 2 kids 16 & 12
thanks trasjohno and thats a real bargain you got
In November we are pretty sure it was 25euro's a day to upgrade to all inc.
does anybody know if it is worth upgrading to all inclusive at castillo san jorge
It all depends on how much you'd be happy to spend on eating out - we returned from Caleta 3 weeks ago and I would say most restaurants cost about the same as eating out at home. I spent a bit more money than I'd planned but we did have a fantastic time, ate in a different place every night and were made to feel very welcome by all the owners/staff in all the bars and restaurants.raych141 wrote:does anybody know if it is worth upgrading to all inclusive at castillo san jorge
We have always done AI in the past, and yes, AI does work out cheaper but it does also become a little boring. I'm glad I spent the extra on eating out this time. Obviously I haven't actually stayed at the Castillo San Jorge/Antigua so I can't comment on their all-inclusive but I can tell you there are some lovely bars and restaurants more or less on the doorstep.
This would stop any cheeky monkeys paying for a couple of days and carrying on using the wristband as if!!!!!!
i have read that the ai bar stops at 11pm but can you still pay for drinks after this time?
yes you can pay cash after 11
do they have imported beers/spirits i.e john smith's bitter ?
Spirits not Beer, to be honest I think you would be lucky to find English beer at any AI bar
is their a kids club if so is it day/night ?
No kids club
how far is the walk to town for evening entertainment or is it bettr to get a taxi and how much do they cost, is it easy to get a taxi back at the end of the night ?
It is in town only a 5 min stroll to the centre
is there much to do for kids in the resort/hotel mine are 16 & 12 ?
Not really that much other than the ent stage, pool tables table tennis
in high season is it easy to get served at the bar and how many drinks are you allowed at any one time ?
Not sure
do you have to get up at stupid oclock for a sunbed ?
In high season sunbeds could be a problem
is the food good and what are snacks like ?
Food looked good and snacks were good
is there aircon in the rooms and would we get a room with a seperate bedroom
