Laudan, It's interesting that they changed your flight for August for you as they told me that as my flight isn't until August they hadn't got round to looking at it yet and they action them in date order! Either they are just fobbing me off again or they only did it for you as you were hassling them about it.
They still haven't called me back, I was promised a call back from a team leader on Friday but not heard anything. They're consistent if nothing else!
Have done a little investigation work myself as to where I stand legally and found an interesting read, The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992, in particular sections 12 & 13. The way I read this is that I am entitled to either
a) alternative holiday of same or superior quality
b) alternative holiday of lower standard and a refund of the diff in cost
c) refund of all monies paid so far
All of which have to be offered ASAP. Now, they know the flight element of the package is cancelled, they have confirmed this verbally. All they have offered so far is a change of accomodation subject to availability and cost or a change of departure date to earlier in the year. Neither of these is acceptable as am limited to the 2 weeks originally booked and the accomodation showing as available is a) not what I'd have picked originally and b) has gone up in price considerably.
The way I read the regulations, correct me please if I am wrong as I don't want to make a fool of myself if I quote them to them, is that they are acting in breach of these regs and should be offering me either an alternative at no extra cost or a refund of my deposit ASAP.
My first contact with them regarding this was 1st Oct (7 weeks ago) so they have been aware of the situation since then.
Please let me know any thoughts or any more advice

Not sure if link has worked but if you Google Package Holiday Regulations 1992 you should find it.
Get back to them quoting this regulations and the sections both verbally and in writing, let them know they are in breach of agreement, and that you are planning to take legal action if this is not resolved to your satisfaction within say 14 days, mind and keep copies, and send registared post

When we got our flight changed they said they did not know there was a problem till we started phoning/emailing. We got changed to the Saturday at 8 a.m. and the web site now shows 10.15 and the accomodation is not showing, like everyone else I cant check my booking as its not avilable to check on line. Dont think I will trust them to the summer flights starting taking off and all flight times are confirmed. The only thing im hanging onto is if we do get this holiday at the price we have paid compared to the prices showing on the web site at the moment we have got a good deal.
Quick update...spoke to team leader...at last it appears some one wants to help me. She said that as flights are available to go out a day before she will see if she can allocate 4 seats and then email my original hotel to bring booking forward by a day. If she can't do this then I am entitled to cancel and get money back.

The hotel I booked with Direct Holidays for Tunisia next year is no longer showing on their websie, but it is showing on Thomas Cook site. The price has gone up for it another £200
Anyway, think they ought to be knocking money off our hols for all the stress they're causing!

Manos holidays have appeared on TC site and TC flights are manos site for the first time, I couldn't see any flight changes. I thought they might consolodate the 24 august flight with the 26 august flight. What ever they do I will be happy. If they move my flight time from the 26 to the 24 its no big deal and the flight time are the same.
Airtours site doing TC flights as well, but DH have not added TC flights. There must be some flight consolodation in the antalya flights soon.
Hi Can't, I'm glad the flight changes haven't affected you too much and won't should they change again. I just feel sorry for the people who are unaware of any changes at the moment whose arrangements aren't as flexible.
I have decided to hang on and keep an eye on flights. It appears they know as much as me-last week I was told the flight was cancelled, this week told it's not. I have an option to cancel if I want...any advice...again?!

I would be asking if it is safe to hang on incase it went t**s up again, after the run around we have all had, and things still not 100%, nothing being cast in stone.
I would look at other flight options and companies to see what they are coming up with.
I went to Bulgaria in september with freedom direct and everything went brilliant much much cheaper too add the promo code "GETSOMESUN" then you get even more off the holiday

I can't fault the service I've received from the team leader at Thomas Cook Operations, I really think she's done all she can for me in a pleasant and professional manner, a credit to the company. It's just a shame the same can't be said for the overall running and set up.
I have been following the various threads regarding Direct Holidays, My Travel, Thomas Cook etc and have noticed that there are a lot of changes being made to flight times, dates etc.
We are (should be) ! going to Egypt on 21st January for 7 nts with Panorama (part of MT the same as Direct Holidays) flying from Glasgow to Sharm (Namma Bay) however I have been taking a look at the various My Travel websites and also Thomas Cook and there now doesn't appear to be a flight going to Sharm from Glasgow anymore.
The My Travel sites show no flights and when you go on to Thomas Cook they say the choice is now no longer available, this might be because the flights are full but to me it looks as thought the last flight is on the 7th of January.
The final balance is now due but I am not to keen just to pay this if we are going to find out in a few weeks that our holiday will be changed / cancelled. I have tried phoning Panorama a few times but have had to hang up before getting through, but will continue trying.
Does anybody have any information on the Glasgow flights to Sharm with MT /TC in January.
Am I just getting a bit paranoid

Don't know if I'm getting this wrong but it looks to me as though there's a TCX flight on 21st Jan flying out at 09.30.
Maybe they will transfer you onto this one if it's not your original flight. I'd be inclined to call them though before you pay out any more money.
