I received my first Christmas card today and as usual it is from the Hotel Pelicanos/Ocas.
I look forward each year to the cards arriving through my letter box from Spain, they means so much more to me, than from other people, although before anybody jumps on me"¦all the cards are appreciated.
Inside the card was a little note and it is quite sad for me to realise this will be the last card I will receive after all these years.
After this year, they will be sending out an electronic card to save the consumption of 839Kg of paper and the savings will be set aside for projects for sustainability and in line with their commitment to the environment.
It might be a small thing, but paper cards are part of my Christmas decorations and as I've spent the last few years in Benidorm"¦I take all my cards with me and decorate my hotel room, with the aid of some blue tack.
I don't think the Pelicanos has my e-mail address.
Bah Humbug"¦why take the fun out of Christmas.?"¦ I can go days without even checking my e-mails, as anybody who sends me one, will confirm. and electronic cards will never be the same as a paper one, to save and look back on years later.
Sanjiiiiiiiiiiii
Remember, you can always save your electronic cards in a folder to read again in the future and if the cards are "e-cards" you can perhaps print them and display them in the usual way (not too sure about this but I'm only trying to be helpful).
The alternative is to save all this year's cards and get them out again in the future as if you have only just received them!! Maybe you have still got cards from previous years and can get them out of their mothballs too LOL!
Hope this helps to spread a bit of good cheer.
Seasons Greetings to everyone at HT.
