Where will toy be staying?

In the south one very good one I have found is Macs tailors by the Mermaid restaurant in Candolim.

Another I use is Versace de Goa just past the Panjim turn by AA Chaku wood place.

To be honest, I've decided that the tailors in Goa are not that good value. Yes they are cheaper, but the quality just isn't what you would get from say Charles Tyrwitt or similar. And the good ones are charging up to £150 for a suit these days and in my experience it wears badly after a few months. As for shirts, definitely do not bother, I've yet to get a shirt made that lasts more than a few wears. I've used Mac's, Super Tailors and Armani de Goa. Don't get me wrong, if you don't wear suits much, then these might fit the bill, but if you wear suits a lot and know a thing or two about them, then you would be better saving your money and investing that little bit more in a better quality suit which will last.

Have to agree with Martin.
You can buy a half decent everyday suit from George at Asda for about £45 and shirts from as cheap as £3. You can take it back if it's no good.
I'm sure other retailers offer good value for money as well.

Thanks everyone,

We're staying North it's my wife who needs the outfit. She has brought a picture of it but needs to be good as it's for our daughters wedding.

Agree with Martin and Hotxbun. Supertailors are good but so are Tesco and Asda. Tesco and Asda are cheaper and it's much less hassle.

I've had a couple of suits made over the years but they're not great. My wife had a couple of "tops" made at Supertailors and she likes them but she's fussy ( it's OK - she doesn't read HT!) and went back and forward a few times to get them right. Think they were glad to see the back of her!!!

I have used Fashion Point at the top of the Beach Road in Candolim for the past six years. They have been excellent. I have taken dresses for them to copy and also some ladies indian suits. I also had a couple of mens suits made at Super Tailor but these could have been better.

Would not bother, especially the Tailors at CSM. They quoted a price of £32.00 in the morning going to the Beach, when I went back to be measured in the Evening they then wanted £56.00. Needless to say I did not bother, it was a nice Dress but not that nice when I could get a Dress similar back here for £40.00.

I've just come back from Goa. Myself and my partner bought suits from Mac tailors 2 years ago, which weren't cheap but they are still in great condition, so we thought we'd get some more made for a special occasion. We bought some fantastic wedding suits. We checked out some of the other tailors listed here before hand and they were no where near the quality. We did however also buy work clothes in Super Emporium (not to be mixed up with Super Tailors) in Candolim. On the main road just by Super Tailors. They were cheap and of quite a good standard, not a touch on Mac's though. He provides a much higher quality, but for work clothes not bad.

Super Emporium, Super Tailors and Tailor de Goa at the Panjim junction are all run by Sulihan and his brothers, and most of the stitching is done in the same workshop next to super tailors.

IMHO
Good for leather jackets ect, been buying my work shirts from them for 4 years they still look good after twelve months daily wear, Shirt wise you can get cheaper in Asda, Tesco, but they dont fit as good (especially when your my shape).

One of the problems i found in January 2009 is that there are too many of the assistants in the shop think they are tailors and make alteration suggestions that are wrong.

I always deal with Suhlihan.
