A few questions if anyone can assist:
1 Do all shops and resteraunts close on xmas & boxing day in lagos area?
2 Does the dolphin watch based in lagos operate Dec/Jan?
3 Has anyone driven to Spain or Gibraltar from Lagos and if so how long did it take? is it easy to do? and is it worth going to Gib for the day?
We are staying for two weeks over xmas so would like to spread our wings a bit this time!
Many Thanks.
SB.
Answer to question 3. I have driven to Gibraltar from Praia da Luz and it took me 5 hours. I was going fast, but I did not use the toll road between Sevilla and Jerez and I stopped for lunch. I think it is a bit far for a day trip, about 300 miles in old money.
No Patio was taking bookings for Christmas day, but I'm not aware of where else is definitely opening. On the 26th., things get pretty much back to normal as Boxing Day is not a feature of the Portuguese festive season.
As far as the Dolphin safaris is concerned, you can contact them here :

Hope this helps a bit.
There are tourists in Lagos throughout the year so there will be some restaurants open to cater for those tourists who are not staying in hotels. We know that As far as the Dolphin safaris is concerned, you can contact them here :

Seville would be worth a day trip from Lagos - about 3 hours? You would get the afternoon daylight with a 9am start and be back for dinner.
Thats useful thanks guys.
Most hire companies allow cross border travel in terms of insurance BUT this may exclude breakdown cover.
Hope you got my e/mail re. restaurants for new year.As far as the dolphin safari is concerned, there has been no sign of any action on the three boats this week and the booking office is closed, so that suggestion looks like a non/starter.
On a positive note, the weather here is excellent with clear blue skies and day long sunshine. It is getting cold in the evenings though, and you might need something warmer than a fleece.
Thanks for that i did notice the tempature had taken a bit of a dip recently but it has to be better than the UK!
Shame about the dolphin watch but maybe it would be better in the summer months anyway.
Looking forward to Thursday and two weeks away
Cheers SB.
It looks like rain on Thursday I'm sorry to say.
Blimey it does look a little rough over the next few days, thanks for that!!!
