Still loads of people smoking at gate 11 last Friday
Good, I'll be one of them soon.
Sanjiiiiiiiiiiii
I had a hunt around, but couldn't find anyone smoking.
After I posted that Sue reported back that she didn't see anyone smoking at the airport either.
Will be flying back with FlyGlobespan on 30 December so I'll check again.

Just after the VIP lounge and the "pub" is the area where the smokers go....you have to look around the corner/pillar....away from the main walkway....it's away from all the shops and usually deserted.
Seek and thou shalt find, Lucy.

Thanks Sanji, will hunt it down properly this time.

No I didn't see anyone smoking but I know where gate 11 is

No I didn't see anyone smoking but I know where gate 11 is
But how can you expect me to find it when there aren't any signs? The signs only went something like Gates 1-10 and 20-30. Not even an airport member of staff could tell me where it was.

It is behind the big bar with all the seating in front of it. Right at the back of the bar there is a duty free shop it is round the back of the duty free shop. Honestly loads of people were still smoking there including myself and my husband
Thanks Liz. I will be seriously hunting it down on 30 December.
Don't know if it is official or not but all the 'No Smoking' signs have been removed from the area round Gate11. There were also many more Airport Staff smoking there but still no ashtrays/cigarette bins
I was just about to book the Rosamar and noticed that it is a non-smoking hotel, but does that apply to the rooms and/or balconies???!!
Anyone been recently that could answer this for us?
Thanks
Ju
PS When we flew back from Alicante at the beginning of Feb this year, the "smoking" area was still in use (Gate 11)
We were in the Rosamar in August and there is no smoking inside the hotel, only out on the verandah. There was an ashtray on the table on the balcony, but not inside the room so I take that to mean they would prefer you to smoke on the balcony. However there were no signs in the rooms saying it was non-smoking.
Thanks for the quick reply Luci
As long as we can have a quick puff on the balcony then we'll be fine!
Do you want to rephrase that
on a serious note i smoke but only ever smoke on the balcony never in the rooms
never been in a room yet that says no smoking in it but non the less only smoke outside
The hotel may be a totally non-smoking establishment, but the law does not include the room you are treating as your home...what you do in that room is of no ones business, unless it breaches any safety aspects or you start wrecking the place...they respectfully ask you to not smoke in bed and it's not rocket science to figure out why.
The last time I smoke to the Director of a 4* hotel which had gone to a non-smoking hotel when the law came into force, he told me the above information and there was talk when the law came into force that he may have to make 30% of his hotel rooms a strict non-smoking....I don't know if that ever got off the ground or died a death.

Sanji, You have smoking on your brain.
