It is the airlines responsibility to find you a room. This applies equally to charter flights and scheduled flights. The also have to compensate you if you are out of pocket due to a delay. We missed our connecting flights due to a 24 hour delay from Goa with My Travel last year. They ended up paying for new flights. Mind you I had to threaten court action before they paid. Don't worry.

Warning to anyone who considers the Dormhouse Option
I thought the "Dormhouse" option was actually the way that tour operators get around selling FLIGHT ONLY that complies to the Indian regulations around Charter flights and accommodation. In some cases Dormhouse is actually only one night's accommodation in a dormhouse.
If you want real Dormhouse accommodation try Anup Holiday Homes , just past Molly Malones. They have a Dormitory that sleeps up to 250 people with space on the floor for about 30-50p a night (depending on season). Although over Christmas and New Year, even a space on a floor could be about about a fiver.
Please do not rely on the Dormhouse Option. I see you have already left by the time I have posted this. Hope you have found somewhere over Christmas and New Year.

So are you saying that you sleep on the floor, and not on an actual bed?

I've never met anybody who has actually stayed in a "dormhouse". I'm sure they exist for backpacking type travellers but I also think it's a device to offer accommodation with a flight, rather than "flight only".

Anybody ever stayed in a dormhouse?

I am just back. I had no intention of using the "accommodation" and was just for the flight. At my age I am way past communal sleeping arrangements and my husband would definitely not cope! We had our own accommodation arranged and thankfully everything went fine - except for one chap who was arrested on the plane when we touched down at Gatwick for smoking on the flight. An interesting experience for him, no doubt!

I did ring the reps office before leaving Goa to check that the flight was on time so still not sure what would happen if there was a long delay. Will probably go scheduled next time so no longer an issue.
