We've just booked two weeks in private accommodation in Vejer de la Frontera for July '08, arriving in Jerez airport.
Just wondering if anyone's been there and what we can expect. Any tips on good restaurants, places to see etc?
Thanks
It has a wide variety of restaurants to choose from but as it is still very spanish there are more traditional spanish restaurants and Tapas bars than anything else. It's definitely not a place for English breakfasts etc but that is part of it's charm.
A really good restaurant is the El Jardin del Calipha which is in the middle of Vejer next to the fountain and you go downstairs to it.
It's serves food with a morrocan influence but it has other food too and you can just visit for a beer or coffee. In the summer they serve wonderful icecreams too.
near Vejer is Bolonia which has a really well preserved Roman settlement, it's right beside a fantastic beach so is quite impressive and if you take your passport entry is free to EEC citizens.
