As i'm of down south for a few days and would be interested in knowing which beaches you think are the best.
not long before we meet now
Thanks everyone,
Mike what one are you going to go to ......
We had a great time down in Palolem and stayed in some average huts but got ripped off on the price 1000Rs per night per hut and it was called Camp San Francisco, contact Joseph 9970128306 and see what deal you can get they are right on the beach front and virtually above the bar the view was fantastic.
We checked out some other places for hut hire and they were half the price one place Rainbow bar even said beach front would cost 500Rs 9823881600.
There was also quite a lively bar called Pelton and they do rooms there but there is many bar who do them, the ones we did not have a look at were right on the rocks to the left of the beach as you look out to sea but from a distance they looked the best and will try those first next time.
What to look out for when you drive in to Palolem you may see groups of lads stood around and as soon as you pass them they are on the mobile telling their mates to look out for whatever coloured jeep, car or bike you have and when you turn the corner of the main beach road they are round you like a plague of rats, tell them you want to have a walk on the beach and check out the nicest position for you, then you can walk along the beach and ask in all the shacks for prices and have a look at the huts, make sure you choose one on stilts because if it is on the ground floor you may be bitten to death by ants.
Coming back we went up the mountain road and the scenery was spectacular, looking back from the mountains to the sea and the monkeys running across the road, we stopped at a little bar in the middle of nowhere and bought two ice cold bottles of soda water, you would have thought we had bought a five course meal, the owner was bowing to us and could not thank us enough for stopping, it was very humbling.
Oh and by the way IC the drinks are more expensive than the Anand bar in Nerul, so beware choose your bar when you have seen the prices first.
All in all we had a great time, always something going on on the beach at night and some great seafood being cooked.
Mike
