Hello charliegirl007, you don't need to go on an excursion to Soller you can do it yourself.
Take the bus to Palma Town and the street that the bus drops you of at is the same street that the train is on, you just have to walk down about 3 minutes and you are there, take a look at the site below for the train and time table.

If this does not work just put in soller train Mallorca.

sent you a pm charliegirl. get off the bus from Palma Nova at the Plaza Espanya, thats near to where you get the train. really easy,
