Hi,
We will be back in Malta for a very short visit to catch up with my parents whilst they are there on holiday. We live in Cyprus and usually fly out to meet up with them for a few days and a short break.
This time, we need to go to a couple of places and want to know how to get there, without hiring a car, which I find is expensive in Malta.
We have to go and meet a guy in Valletta (outside Burger King, apparently) to swap some stamps with him. Anyone know if there is only 1 Burger King in Valletta????
We also want to go to Rabat too. We arrive on Weds afternoon and will leave the following Monday lunchtime, so not too many days there.
We are staying at the Topaz Hotel in Bugibba.
Thanks
cwb
Bugibba to Valletta - very easy by bus - to Rabat, prob need to go to Valletta first

Burger King - AFAIK (and in yellow pages) only one in Valletta, near the city gate
Hello cyprus100, the number 49 goes from Bugibba bus station to M-dina/Rabat.
Ok, expert on Topaz Hotel here....... If you go out the front door of the hotel and walk forward to the main road the bus stop for Valetta and Rabat is just there. Takes less than 5 mins walking Also for good car hire turn right outside hotel and a few yards along is Franks car hire. ask for fully comp.
Thanks for all the info folks and pleased to hear there is only 1 BurgerKing in Valletta
Now all we have to do - is decide whether to get the bus from the airport to the hotel or hop a taxi. That all probably depends on the weather when we arrive. LOL
We usually find it's a few degrees cooler in Malta than the temps we leave behind in Cyprus - but as long as it isn't raining, we may just jump on the bus.... I know the return taxi is always cheaper than taking one directly from the airport - but that's nothing new for airport taxis.
I don't recall where I looked at car hire prices but checked out a number of websites a few months ago - and for the few days I checked out, they were more expensive than we are used to paying. Particularly when taking into account the exchange rate at the time between the Lm to the Cy£ (usually around Cy£1.40 to the Maltese Lire).
Thanks again everyone.
