I'm looking at going to Sri lanka for a week then to the maldives for 5 days for my honeymoon. I've been looking at going with dialaflight. But i'm keen to know of other companies that are reliable and offer the 'flexible tailor made' style holiday packages. Any advice on dialaflight would be gratefully appreciated too.

most of the main operators should be happy to do a tailor made holiday for you. If you know what you want ( and can have some flexibility with hotels) then I would just ask for quotes. Best to ask as many as possible and then start trying to get one company to beat anothers ones quote.

Kuoni are worth trying - we went to Sri Lanka with them in June 2005 and were able to add on extra days to both the start and end of our tour with no problems. Their website is really good for trying out different ideas.
have done tailor made with Kuoni and they've been fine. But try all the major companies as I've found that the best quote one year does not mean the same the next year.
Thnaks for your help. I have looked at kuoni and they do what i'm looking for but i found them a bit pricey. i'll keep looking.

Try people like Destinology, The Holiday Place or Dream Ticket all on line companies. Basically we do all the research decide when and where we want to go and contact these people for quotes we never use standard packages

We actually asked Hayes and Jarvis to do something a bit outside of their brochure package - and they were more than helpful. don't ask - don't get !!

Of course the other advantage to us is that we are flexible about the actual days we go and return on just giving a general idea of when we want to go. The staff at the travel agents enjoy something a bit more interesting rather just booking up standard packages
