thanks jay- useful tip which I'm sure some will follow up on - knowing this lot
I dont recall seeing cobra beer for sale in Goa, ive only seen it in our local Indian Restaurants.
When I asked about it at Monicas shack I was told that they had a lot of problems with the quality and lots of complaints, so now they stick to fosters , Kings and kingfisher.
In fact last time we bought a bottle home to have with a good curry and a bit of a trip down memory lane!
horrible stuff
Del we got cobra beer at east meets west in november so they deffo sell it ..colleen
Guinness is his favourite drink but is too mean to pay for it in Goa!!
just returned Cobra available in lots of places, same price as Kingfisher abot 70 in resteraunts 60 in the shacks
Candybabe

Is it imported or brewed in india under licence?
I find it too sugary....and gimmicky...king of beers my ar...
Who do you deliver from Drayman?
I see alot of comments about the beer on this site particually Kingfisher and Kings. My favourite after Kingfisher was Arlem (not sure of spelling). Does anyone else know this beer.
We saw Budweiser in Newtons but it was 100 rupees for a small can.
I drank kings last year , lagar is lagar to me, as i hardly drink it.
Personally, I find the introduction of Western drinks and foods into Goa very regrettable. It should cherish and promote its own products and we should enjoy trying them. It's doubly insulting when the food is as wonderful as it is in Goa - sure doesn't need a Macdonalds or a Burger King and that's certainly not what I've travelled 4500 miles for!!
I agree the beer is not the best but a cold Kings or Kingfisher sure hits the spot when drunk in a shack with the sun beating down and your feet in the sand.
And that's exactly where I'll be in 24 hours......bring it on!!
Budweiser is brewed under licence in India, a small bottle in a shack is 30, or should be.
