Hi
Wondering if anyone out there can give any opinions on these apartments, recent if possible.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
The silence is scaring me, has no one been?!!!!
Hi Wee puddock, i have heard good things about these apartments and that rating are very good, look on this web site the reviews are fantastic so it looks like you have made a good choice! Holidays Uncovered - Real Holiday Reviews Floriana, Cala Bona
I stayed with my wife & 5 year old son. We loved our appt overlooking the pool, as you've no doubt read elsewhere its made up of 3 former hotels so I dont know if there all as good as the 1 we had, but I cant see why not.
There seemed to be alot of German guests who, as you know, like to keep themselves to themselves, no trouble getting a sunbed tho We had a couple of light meals by the pool, they were fine & the staff were friendly.
There was no supermarket on site, but its only a 5-10 minute stroll to the town where there is plenty of choice.
The bus stop is a 5 minute stroll away & the service cheap & superb, we enjoyed the beaches in Sa Coma & Cala Millor. Nice places to eat were; Janet & Johns by the small harbour - Cala Bona / The Tuck Inn - Cala Millor & my family's favourite bar Antonio's Steak House - on the front btwn Cala Bona & Cala Millor (Ive posted about this bar elswhere on this forum - a great night out)
We had a great holiday staying at the Floriana, being so close to the other resorts made it alot more interesting.
Enjoy yourself, Im sure you will
you should have a good hol
Has anybody come back from these apartments recenlty, would like to know how difficult it is to get a sunbed and do I have to send hubby out
My daughter was there the first two weeks in July with Grandparents and cousin and they said there were plenty of sunbeds (hubby of the hook then)!!!! They really enjoyed their stay there. The girls are 13 and 15 and they enjoyed the activities and said the animation team were very good. They ate out in the town and then came back for the entertainment. The apt looked fine from the photos and the very clean and comfortable. All staff were friendly. Large balconies, there are serveral blocks so I can only comment on theirs. All in all it sounds like you will be just fine.
Have a great time.
P.S. We have just come back from Spain and at our resort the pool was fenced of and they only opened the gates at 9am, so no point in the early morning rush, but it didn't stop the usual, towels down not seen again for hours situation!!!!
Can anyone help me? I have booked self catering for next year, to the Floriana Resort, on the recommendation of friends who have been self catering there before. I have read on another site that the self catering facilities are now poor as Thomson has started selling this resort to their German customers on an all inclusive basis. Has anyone been this year who could confirm this?
just come back from floriana on sept 1st. 2nd time i,ve been.
Nice clean hotel, loads of towel changes and cleaning of apartments, air conditioned, so nice and cool, good pools etc...
There were a few differences this time though. It is now mainly 80% german all inclusive .We were self catering, there is a cooker, toaster, microwave and all the other bits and bobs but we ate out every night as there is loads of restaurants.
We enjoyed ourselves, but there wasnt many english kids for our 5 and 9 to play with in the pool where as 2 yr ago there was.
You can buy all inclusive when you get there weekly, I heard the food was quite nice.
The main downfall for us at self catering was when the All Inc got up at 8ish for their brekky there was a bit of noise, and they usually took their towels and got the best sunbeds so i had to get up at 9ish to get the last ones.....wasnt too bad on the last few days as kids back to school. Cleaners come very regular but early, i think they thought everyone was at breakfast so had to put up DO NOT DISTURB sign on door to stop them coming in at 08:45 and put the PLEASE CLEAN ROOM on when we went out about 10:30ish
Entertainment is fairly good on a night but and nearly everything finished by 11:30ish.
All in all a lovely hotel, thats if you dont mind the other nationalities,
Have a nice holiday ....we enjoyed it
Thanks Dazcal. Sounds good to me. We are going with 2 other families with kids similar ages to ours so the lack of English speaking friends won't be a problem. Just come back from Sozopol in Bulgaria and the kids hardly met any English speaking friends there. It was a bit of pain for us as parents as they spent a lot of time squabbling between themselves.
