Hi
I was booked on a holiday to Kenya on 10th Feb. After a lot of waiting to hear whether it would go ahead (they promised just 72 hours notice) the flight (a charter with their parent company, First Choice) was cancelled and when they couldn't rebook us on another holiday we were interested in they agreed to refund it in full. We've booked with Virgin for our next holiday, but obviously we haven't yet got our money back (they promised to issue a cheque last week) and we've had to rearrange our finances so that we can pay Virgin the balance.
Does anyone know how long we should expect to wait?
Thanks
SG
How did you pay in the first place? If it was by credit card I thought refunds had to go back the same way - which means no delays waiting for authorised signatures and then days in the post!
A similar thought did occur to me. The procedure for repayment should match the method of payment.
Paid by bankers' draft - and to be honest don't want it on my credit card as I pay it off every month and I'd only have to get them to issue a repayment. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of how long cheques take to come?
What did H&J say when you asked them?
Cheque fine on Thursday when they cancelled it and couldn't rearrange. On Monday rang and they said they would put it on our card (despite having agreed a cheque) - then would send a cheque that day.
Hayes & Jarvis have sent their cheque bless them. It arrived yesterday. I think my disaster with the travel agent may have made me too cynical.
its nice to get a follow up to queries. Glad it is all sorted now.
