I am flying out to Murcia airport this weekend and have opted for online check in to save time and money. This isn't a problem on the outward journey as I shall check in from home before I set off to the airport.
However, what do I do coming back? I don't have internet access at my destination. Am I right to assume computers are provided at the airport in Murcia for this purpose?
Thanks. Hope someone can help!
note, if you are flying ryanair that they will make you pay to use the normal checkin and you will have to pay even more extra for priority boarding
last two trips with ryanair - Milan and Rome - it was easy to chevk-in online at an internet cafe - cost about €1.50 on eac h occassion to print off the boarding cards
Thanks for your help. I am jetting off tomorrow and shall take your sensible advice and find an internet cafe in the resort.
There are no facilities to print boarding passes at Murcia airport, there are at least two internet cafes near the airport in Los Alcazares, the two closest i can think of are both in Avda. Rio Nalon, The Post Room is underneath the 525 hotel in the arcade
You obviously don't get a boarding pass but I've never needed one. I just hand over my passport and reference number at checkin.
Which airport lets you through without a boarding pass - I'd like to know so that I can avoid it!! Are you sure you're not confusing online booking with online check-in?
There are lots of people who can check in online but don't have a printer. Some airlines are quite used to this. I don't know what airline the OP was referring to.
But I doubt that you'll get away with this with Ryanair, and I think that Murcia (the original poster's destination) is used by them, and if she is flying with them then she really is better off using the internet cafe option. Ryanair only allow on-line check-in for passengers not wanting to check hold baggage in and the whole point of it is to reduce the use of check-in desks and save costs. At most airports airlines are charged 'rent' on the check-in desks they use and Michael O'Leary has made it clear that being able to move over to on-line check-in for all passengers is their aim because it means that they will not only be able to save on staffing costs but on renting check-in desks too. I can see the day when Ryanair moves from being no-frills to self-service until you actually board the plane and with no hold baggage facilities because that way he won't have to pay for baggage handling services either and he can also fill the hold with freight

Actually Michael O'Leary has already said he wants to do that! He said people should fly without luggage and buy clothes from cheap places (Primark may have been mentioned) when they arrive.
I have just checked in on-line for the first time,(Ryan Air) for some reason my boarding pass wouldn't print, so I had to submit my details again to reprint, then with the help of my teenage daughter managed to print off the boarding pass. Now i'm wishing I had paid to check in as i'm worried about doing the same for the return journey and not being able to get internet access, which i didn't realise you had to do until I read this post. Maggie - don't worry. If you can't check in on-line at your destination you can still check in at the return airport - but you will pay extra
I travelled with Ryanair from East Midlands. I managed quite easily to do the online check in and print a boarding pass at an internet cafe in Mazarron. It couldn't have been simpler. The hardest bit was asking the Spanish owner if they had a printer!
Security was very tight at Murcia and there is no way I would have got near the plane without a boarding pass. I also had priority boarding and they were very strict with the queue jumpers who tried to get on without this.
Now that I have successfully managed I shall opt for this option everytime!
I also managed okay with on line check in on return journey, thanks to a friend.I did go in to an internet cafe but never seen any printers,i seen some people at the airport who hadn't done it and were charged 18 euro.Maggie
Thanks
i think it goes by date and not time ie 2 days not 48hours.
I've just checked in on line for a flight tomorrow and it has also let me check in for my return flight for Saturday 29th March that has made things a lot easier as I won't need to find somewhere to print off return part.Maggie
