I know they are cheap,but I have been to many destinations around the world where taxis are cheap, but people use the tour operators bus,not in Goa,it seems you are in the minority if you get that damed bus do tell

I've been thinking about this a lot since I came home and I thought I would ask, why is it in Goa that everyone (well most people,even though they have paid for transfers) gets taxis to and from the airport I know they are cheap,but I have been to many destinations around the world where taxis are cheap, but people use the tour operators bus,not in Goa,it seems you are in the minority if you get that damed bus do tell

We get a taxi cos we just cant wait to get checked into a good room. Actually after such a long flight its more of a comfort thing but we do get the transfer bus back in case of delays. Last year we had a 27 hour delay but luckily we were told not to check out and so we had an extra day holiday.
...... also gives you the option to change rooms if not satisfactory, before the coach arrives with the rest of the holidaymakers. 
Yeah it's deffo quicker by taxi, especially when you end up sitting on a coach waiting for people who have decided to use a taxi but haven't bothered telling the reps. At airport hubby is in charge of sorting out a taxi while I see the rep to let them know not to wait for us.
but as most people get taxis the bus was almost empty, we only stopped once and changed rooms when we got there,no problem. If most people get a taxi you don't arrive ahead of many anyhow. You could get 6 bottles of Honybee with that taxi fare 
now thats a thought!
If our luggage comes off quickly, we get a taxi.
If our luggage is one of the last to come off, we get the transfer bus.

Taxi is a lot quicker, gets us to the hotel in record time, which means dump the bags and head to the beach 
the first year 7 yeas ago we took a bus , since then I go DIY. I take a taxi because the coaches in Goa have square wheels.
Taxi every time.. this xmas we were on our way out to the beach just as the coach arrived to drop off guests that had been sat almost next to us on the flight. Their look was one of astonishment, I think. When we returned to the hotel on the evening they were still changing their room for a better one.

Why such a rush when we got to our hotel we just had something to eat (after changing our room ) and then had a doss by the pool and chilled, after all you have 2 weeks of getting to the beach first,if thats your bag

But Deb many return visitors want to get to the beach and catch up with old friends and see everyone again. Even if you have 2 weeks or 10 weeks, you still want to get out and about ASAP (IMO).

Maybe thats the point I'm missing
because people can't wait to see their friends them extra minutes are important. As it was our first time we tended to go to different shacks to try them out so we did't really get that affilliation a lot of people on here talk about. I did have to laugh though when some shack boys and beach sellers asked where you here last year and we said yes (as we remembered never say it is your first time) and they said yes I remember you 
it happened so many times.

But when you go back again they will definitely remember you for sure Debi 
and like everyone else you will be eager to get down to the beach straight away

We always get a Taxi.

It was my 1st time, and we chose to get the transfer, and i'm glad that i did, a bit slower than a taxi driver, and got information of mark the cosmos rep.
And there was only 10 of us on the bus.
But we did get a taxi on our return, because i wanted to check in early to get a window seat for mr wicked, as he was ill and wanted to rest his head on the side.

But we got the bus back and the 7 of us all got seats together, never paid for it either
We always get the transfer bus wherever we go, we get lots of info on the resort and hotel;
meet the rep and other holiday makers,plus if there are any problems with a flight home
it is the tour companys responsibility to get you to the airport.
I can remember all the problems when the north and south taxi drivers had a dispute and No private cars
were allowed at the airport,just imagine the worry and stress that caused.

Because after flying for 9 or 10 hours sitting in a seat designed for contortionists the last thing I want is to sit on the magic bus for 2-3 hours.
Because if we have a room problem it's easier to change before the main hoardes have arrived on the magic bus.
Because Sanjay (Ice n Spice) picks us up and I know he can drive (safely).
Because Sanjay picks us up and he brings a few cold ones along for the journey back to Candolim. definitely what is needed after the flight.
Because on my way back I can get an extra hour in bed before leaving.
It's just right on so many levels
You can always opt back onto the bus if there's a problem getting tothe airport.
