Hi all
We are off to Bangkok/Koh Samui soon:), our first trip to Thailand. Would appreciate some guidance as to the best way to exchange sterling to Thai Baht - is it best to change some here before we go then use debit card in the bank or ATM? Many thanks.
Have also booked a tour guide whilst in Bangkok as landed up so bewildered by the choice of places to go and things to see and we are likely to get lost left to our own devices! I will post a review on our return.
Regards
Andrea
Don't bother getting the baht here as you'll get a poor rate of exchange. There are banks at the airport where you can get TC's changed or use an ATM whcih tend to be dotted all round Thailand. You'll have a great time.
I hope you have a great trip. I agree with sunbear- the exchange rate is much better over there. We have used cards, travellers cheque and even just sterling and got good rates. Bangkok can be bewildering the first time so a guide is a good idea. Where are you staying in BKK and KS?
many thanks for your responses. We are staying at the Millennium Hilton in BKK for three nights, then on to the Bophut Resort and Spa in Koh Samui for ll nights serious R and R, sooooo looking forward to it! I will of course post a review on our return.
