If it is useful (or not very useful) please let me know, and I will update it appropriately.
Part One: Arriving at the airport, getting to Palma and to your resort.
The Airport:
Once you have collected your luggage make your way outside, you will be in a large coach park. You will see a large bridge going between the airport building and the car park opposite. Make your way along the edge of the airport building so that you are underneath the bridge. Follow the travelators under the bridge in the direction of the car park. Cross the zebra crossing, the bus stop is on your right. The Airport bus service is route 1, price to Palma is 1.85 euro per adult (if somebody knows the child fare let me know), the bus runs every 15 minutes, but is NOT 24 hours, first bus in the morning is 06:10, the last one is 01:10 in the winter and 02:15 in the summer.
More information on the Airport Bus:

There is normally quite a bit of space for luggage on the bus, but it can get crowded, especially as a lot of the airport workers use the bus.
The bus will take the motorway into Palma, the bus stop you want is called "Porta des Camp" you will see the names of the bus stops, on the screens on the bus.
A map of the bus stop, and where to catch the next bus:

You will be on a large road, cross (Where safe) and walk down towards the sea, wait at the yellow bus stop.
Details of buses to Calvia resorts:

Not all of the buses in the link stop at this bus stop.
For Portals catch buses: 103,104,106 and 111
For Palma Nova and Magalluf catch 104 or 106 (slow),or 107 (infrequent but fast)
For Santa Ponsa catch: 102, 103 or 104
For Cala Vinyas catch: 107 (4 times a day)
Fares vary depending on how far you are travelling, currently (Feb 2008) adult fare to Palma Nova or Magalluf is 2.60 euro
Part Two - the return journey
Going back to the airport, is a little easier. Because we can check the timetable of the 105 bus and plan our journey to take advantage of this. Also you will make the change of buses at the same bus stop. If you take this bus, the whole journey will take around an hour.
Option 1 - Express Bus 105
This bus takes the motorway, and then the back roads into Palma. This is the fastest, and also the easiest bus to take. The bus will take the backroads into Palma, and eventually emerge onto the bigger roads by the river (you won't SEE the river, but you will see the bridge going over it). Get off at the next stop, and wait at the same bus stop for the airport bus:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=104827409083200599445.000446fad8fe28d5bcc2f
If you don't get off at this stop - don't worry, the next stop will do just fine!
Option 2 - The other buses
If the 105 is not available, you miss it, or it runs at bad times you can still take one of the other buses, but will take you longer.
There are a number of places you can change buses, I recommend the stop AFTER the cathedral. This is also where you will have changed on the way from the airport:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=104827409083200599445.000446fabfab66a058474
Just cross the main road, the bus stop is on the other side of the petrol station.
You could also change buses much earlier - at the Porto Pi shopping centre, this is an easier change, as it is the same bus stop, but it would also take longer as the Airport bus makes its way around Palma.
