Hi all, looking for some advice, the longest flight I have taken before was to the Canary Islands from Belfast (4 hours), but we are due in a few weeks time to fly to Brazil and would be grateful if anyone could answer any of our queries.
Firstly we booked through OPODO to go from Dublin to Rio,which invovled flying from Dublin to Madrid (Iberia),and then Madrd to Sao Paolo (Iberia) and then Sao Paolo to Rio (Tam),but we have had to add an extra flight on to this from Rio To Belo Horizonte this is still a TAM flight but it is booked through Travelocity as we couldnt get it through OPODO,does anyone know if we will be able to check our bags in at dublin straight through to Belo horizonte and also do we have to pass through immigration at each Brazilian airport as we are a bit worried about some of our connection times being a bit on the short side.
Thanks in advance.
entry to a country - so theoretically at least you should get bags tagged through to Sao Paolo and not need to see them before "landing" in Brazil. (you won't technically arrive in Spain as you will be in transit) Collect Bags in SP & clear Brazilian customs and then have them tagged all the way through on TAM via Rio to Belo Horizonte on your 2 domestic flights. However as you will have seperate flight coupons for your last leg you may need to specifically point this out at SP in order to get bags tagged through.
After many years in the airline business, personally I prefer to see my bags as often as possible however as at least you know where to start looking when they don't turn up with you are your final destination!!
