Sorry can't help with any of your questions but we are also going to Egypt for Christmas and New Year and it's also my birthday while we're over there. We're staying at the Sultan Gardens and really looking forward to it. We have spent the last three Christmases in Tenerife and really enjoyed being away - hope we enjoy Sharm as well. Anyway, just wanted to say enjoy and will be interested to see if anybody can be of more help to you than I have been!!!

Hi Essex Mum, we too go to El Gouna on 21st from Manchester for Christmas and New Year and to the same Hotel too. We spent last New Year there (JUST THE ONE WEEK THEN) and loved it, Cake - yes sure, all the waiters will come out with a cake singing happy birthday in Egyptian, your kids will love it. The Gala Dinner on New Year was to die for - wonderful, buffet style set in a huge and I mean HUGE bedoun tent just outside of the Hotel. I understand they do similar for Xmas Eve too. Any questions about Hotel and area please do not hesitate to ask.

There are a lot of English live in El Gouna and they celebrate Xmas, they have a huge Christmas tree in the square - the lot.

Hello, We are going to be in El Gouna at 3 corners Rihana for Christmas Week this year (from 23rd). Its a bit of a while off, but we are already giddy to be going. I can tell from the forums that a couple of people (Essexmum and Blueheather) have been recently, and would love to know the answers to Essex mums questions i.e. weather, clothes, what happens on Christmas Eve, what to expect on Christmas Day, and also as we are celebrating two birthdays whilst we are away that week, where the best places are to celebrate? And finally what Essexmum thought about the Rihana over Christmas Week in 07 - was it busy, madness, or just great fun. Thanks in advance. :cheers
