Well, we're back from a fantastic time in La Carihuela. We couldn't have asked for a better week. The weather was gorgeous, wall to wall sunshine with a spot of rain for a short time late one evening. We spent most days either round the pool or on the beach. We went as far as dipping our feet in the sea and even braving the pool for a few minutes on a couple of occasions. Both were freezing

We found plenty to do in the area and didn't even get time to venture in to Torri centre as there was enough to keep us occupied in La Carihuela. Eifion and both hubby and Helen T's OH went walking there one morning. We did spend one evening at Benalmadena Marina, which was lovely. Helen T has a list of bars and restaurants to recommend, which she will be posting shortly. The El Tiburon where we stayed was excellent value for money and I will post a review once I get organized with my unpacking and washing etc, etc. We would definitely consider going there again in the future. If there's anything specific I can help anyone with please ask.

I am going to costa del sol in July 08, to see my brother, I will be spending half the time on my own, can anyone recommend the best region for a 45 year old single male to stay? for bars or meeting fellow brits? ta

where does your brother live. I can recommend staying at the Tiburon b&b between Torremolinos and Benalmadena if it's convenient for you. There's plenty to do in the viccinity and a couple of good bars and restaurants I could recommend. The hotel is also small and friendly with a nice bar and swimming pool. The rates are exceptionally cheap also.
