Why does some negative posts always end up SSDD? ( same :swear different day) Sometimes you have to generalise to get your point of view across. :que I have a cropped hairstyle :rofl , have a tattoo and wear a football shirt but those who know me don't care about that..I drink to excess sometimes and occasionally the odd swearword slips out. I'm not keen on some of my fellow travellers' but hey I can move elsewhere! Goa's a big place away from the coastal belt. I go to Goa to get away from all the UK's PC brigade and stereotyping. Those of you that can't see the seedier side of Goa.... OPEN your eyes for gods sake. It's not all paradise......

We are going to goa (26 of us) in just under 3 weeks.
we have a family and friends holiday twice a year,in our party there are 2 toddlers and 1 baby.
There are 6 men(5 off them have tattoo's)and 3 teenagers who love football, and most will drink to excess on occasion and shout when there team scores
the 6 adult and four teenage woman all love bingo and kareoke and again will drink to excess on occasion.
this is the holiday we want
.sun
.sea
.cheap holiday
.cheap drink
.cheap cigarettes
.good food
.entertainment
if goa offers us this both myself and many like me will be back next year.
just to point out, i am a nice decent person with good manners and fine morals, and i don't mind who i share a hotel, shack or a plane with.
places change i think it's time to accept goa as it is or move on

Exactly my point,

And if you fully read my post you will see that I made it more than once.Places change and they do not belong to any one person. If you are no longer happy you move on it is a big world out there.

I stand by my report. It is what I experienced this year.It does not mean I will not go back as Goa has a lot to offer as you listed. However to paint it as perfect and not put in the negatives as I saw them would have been remiss.

:que Why can't Russians (or anyone else for that matter) go to Goa? Surely not just the Brits enjoy holidays??

There's no point in posting reports and suppressing opinions in case you offend some people. We will all want something different from holidays and disagreeing doesn't have to be World Ward 3! I know exactly what Papa was saying and I agree. I have grown up kids and don't particularly want young kids around when I'm on holiday. That doesn't make me a bad person - just been there and done that, and now looking for holidays without the demands of kids around - which Goa used to supply.

I've seen folks in Goa who look like the cast of "Shameless" on the beach. They were scruffy, rude, loud, agressive and foul mouthed. A couple of years ago we saw two couples teaching small Indian kids how to swear in English....and I do mean swear. I couldn't type what they were teaching.

I felt so angry I was tempted to tackle them but the two blokes were about 18 stones with heads that went straight into huge shoulders. I don't think my intervention would have gone down very well and I could well have seen the inside of the hospital had I done so. SWMBO did well to talk me out of it. Mind you, the women scared me more. Coward, I know. And yes, they did have tattoos....the women, I mean!

You definitely see more of these morons these days. There's still not a lot of them, but there used to be none.

What is it about football teams, football shirts, beer bellies, drinking too much and of course our own personal views on Goa , that brings out the best in us??, well I agree with you Papa.

I enjoyed the debate. I forgot to mention I'm an old drunken football supporter, with a lack of hair and no tattoos(only because I,m to frightened to get one)Regards to all.

Papa I have a tattoo of a british bulldog on my shoulder but I'm not a yob. I love football and a drink but I think I am quite well behaved although I do like a good laugh. I know the type of people you are talking about and thats why I stopped going to tenerife and found Goa. You do get the odd one or two but I wouldnt say Goa was over run with the yobs that you get in the Canaries. Not that I am saying that all people who go to the Canaries are yobs, just some of them. :que
