Thanks Glynis
think I will just go get another form as I won't be to go over it as it's in the little squares
trust me I'm trying to be that careful writing in those little boxes and as expected I made a mistake lol
Is your daughter under the age of 11?If not she may not need it to be countersigned by her teacher:
Note 10
countersignature
We need a countersignature for:
1st time applications:
replacement passports for lost, stolen, missing or damaged passports:
renewal passport vaildity extensions if you cannot be recognised from the photograph in your current passport: and
renewal passports for children under 11
My wife has just sent away for a new passport and although she changed her photo's,she didn't require the form or the photo's to be signed as it was a renewal. So unless your daughter is under 11 or was a baby when she got her last passport she MAY not need the form countersigned but I'd maybe check at your local P.O. just in case.

It makes no difference.
Only the details that appear on the passport holders details page might be questioned.
That's not one of them.
I'm traveling to Ibiza on the 1st July and coming back on the 8th July 2008
My passport runs till the 12th August 2008
On the Foreign website it mentions that Spanish rules say that as long as your returning within your passport validilty then you're fine, but does the airline have a say even if the country say's it's fine?
I'm flying Jet2 , Hope i don't have to get a new one
Thanks if you can help
the tour operator and airlines have the final say, if they want 3 or 6 months then thats what you need, they can refuse to accept you on a flight if you do not comply to their rules
On Jet2's site they mention countries which have minimum validility time requirments but that's it.
I'll give them a bell tomorow
Thnaks
Please see the following link: http://www.worldtravelguide.net/country/259/passport_visa/Europe/Spain.html
I've had a look on the Jet2 website and they say the following:
What identification do I need to travel?
It is important that you arrive on time with your booking reference and must present valid documentation, matching the names on your reservation, for travel for all flights, including UK domestic flights. In order to ensure compliance with Immigration and other governmental authorities Jet2.com passengers are required to travel with a valid passport, and any necessary visas where required, on all international flights. Please note that if your photographic ID is damaged it may not be accepted.
I hope this helps.

The thing is i've read on our foriegn website (somewhere on this forum i think) that spain only requires you to be valid for the duration of your stay, and Jet2 mention nothing on their website about Spain in particular.
Going to have to ring them up, maybe that's what they want as it's a premium rate number
Cheers for your help guys, i just wanted to be absolutely certain, hopefuly i dont have to falk out for another pasport
clownboy

My passport expires June 22nd
Will I be able to travel on this passport?
Im hearing my passport has to be valid for 6 months after my return date?
Im an eu citizen tho
Any advice / help would be appreciated
polar if you read back a few pages all will become clear
Ive only 5 days until we fly so would appreciate some solid advice
Will the passport I have suffice?
as you have left it so late the only thing you can try is phone the tour operator or if you purchased your flight direct, the airline, and explain the situation, if they are willing to accept your passport as is,then ASK for an e-mail confirmation and take it with you when you go
we are off to alcudia 21st june 08 for a week and my kids passports all expire in august 08 a family freind has told me you need 6 months left on your passport if you are visiting in the eu does anyone know if this is true?
We had the same problem a couple of weeks ago - my sons passport was due to expire a few days after we returned from Mallorca. There is no problem whatsoever as regards Spanish immigration - as long as its valid, that's ok. Someone told us the some airlines may have different policies. When we checked in at Birmigham with Monarch, the lady checking us in looked at it, and then said "I have to check this...." we were left waiting and hoping there wouldnt be a problem. She came back and said it was o.k. So, do check with your airline but I dont think you will have any problem whatsoever, and certainly no problem with immigration at Palma. Its only with regard to trips to the United States and certain other countries that you need a passport valid for at least six months. There is no such rule within the EU.
I would prefer to renew the passports before the holiday to be on the safe side. You will not 'lose' the unexpired time as up to 9 months can be put on the new passport. In this case, there are a couple of months left before the passports expire which should be fine, but if it were only a matter of days or weeks then renewing would be a safer option - if one of the party is unable to travel home due to illness/accident etc. it would complicate matters greatly if their passport expired whilst abroad.
Hi i am due to travel to Gran Cnaria in about 3 weeks time. I just noticed on my passport that on a few pages i have small small stains like a water splash/spot stain. The page where your pic and info go also has 2 tiny tiny ones at the bottom but you can see all my info/pic is visable/ no ink ruining and the laminate has not peeled. Im worrying a little so i called the passport office and she just said any stain makes the passport damaged and you 'might' be refused travel. She didnt mention expected wear and tear i mean passports can last a whole 10 years. Any advice?
No-one likes to advise if you'll be ok (even the passport office to you on the phone) as they cannot see the passport itself, my inclination would be to go to my local airport and check there as they are the one who ultimately make the decisions. They may have to check with GC but as long as your photo and the ID numbers are not tampered with or unrecognisable you 'should' be ok. But as stated I'd prob go to airport to double check.
Thanks for your help. No its nothing like that and comparing it to my previous passport that i travelled with a lot and never had a problem im sure it will be classed as wear and tear. I mean its not even that visable except i know its there if that makes sense!! Im off to store it somewhere safer. Thanks again"
