We'll be visiting for a few days from San Francisco so can be flexible about when we go - are we better off sticking to a weekend? (I'm thinking that prices may be higher during the week if there's trade conventions etc....)

Also I'm expecting to pay top dollar as it'll be August, am I right? We do intend to book somewhere on a cancellable (if that's actually a word!) rate and keep and eye out for last minute bargains as per the advice from Luci and other HT Vegas experts.

Absolutely definitely try to stay Sun-Thurs. Fri & Sat, and sometimes Thurs, are more than double the weekday rates due to the influx of people from California. We paid $69 for Planet Hollywood and the weekend rate started at $299.

Book directly with the hotel, pay one night's deposit which will be refundable if you cancel 48-72 hours before arrival, Check the hotel's policy.

Put "Vegas +hotels" in the Search facility to find the main topic which should have some information.

I've been keeping an eye on the prices being charged by the Signature - my booking was made a few weeks ago and although I got a good price through Luxury Suites International, I thought I'd keep watching - LSI have just dropped their prices for the dates I'm staying so I've been in touch with them and they confirmed I can cancel and rebook, which I've done. I've now just saved another $477 on my original price which is fantastic. It means the price I'm paying for the Signature suite is £60 a night for 10 nights and £73 a night for the two Friday/Saturday nights, amazing really. It means I've saved $1400 than if I'd booked through MGM direct. Hopefully, if LSI turn out to be spot on, it may mean other people can look at staying there if they want as the price becomes comparible with a mid-class strip hotel.

I just hope my room is actually there when we get there now :really :duh :D Fingers crossed.

Just had a few more offers through so at the moment I have Harrahs from 16th November for 4 nights and Paris from 20th for 5 nights and with the comps has cost me $252 so happy days.

I am still on the look out for anything else that gets sent to me though as I know a lot of people have had 3 free nights at the Venetian so fingers crossed I will get a mail but November is busy with confrences so I am not holding my breath

Has anyone stayed at Ballys? I'm getting pretty good rates for their South Tower and the newer North Tower suits.

We stayed at the IP before and looking at their suite rates are pretty good, as we want to be centre strip, has anyone stayed in a suite at the IP?

Haven't stay in a suite at the IP, but we like their deluxe rooms as long as you realise they are basic, functional clean room and there are much better rooms to be had in Vegas for not much more at the moment with the economy.

We stayed at Bally's a couple of weeks ago. We had the South and North Tower booked, but were offered an upgrade to a junior suite at check in. This was massive with a sunken bath in the room and we really liked it. It was our first stay at Bally's, but we are intending staying there again.

Hi all

My husband and I have just booked to stay at the Riviera next May [ 7 nights for only £162 ]

We thought this was excellent value but we are not expecting much luxury. On our previous 2 visits to Vegas we have stayed at the MGM but this time we were looking for a cheaper option.

Has anyone got any views on this hotel? Would it be worthwhile asking for a comp room upgrade on arrival?

Many Thanks

I checked reviews of the Riviera for someone a few weeks ago and they weren't that bad. It also sounded as if an upgrade was easy enough to get just for asking.

Thanks Luci - hoping for the best!

I wouldn't worry too much Homer, I don't think any of the main Vegas strip hotels are awful and even their basic hotels are the equivalent of our 3*!! :D Besides...it's Vegas, you'll hardly be in the room :tup
