Good point Ellsbells, do you know how many rooms the new fishing village will have? I have been reading back over the pages of this site and I am not sure if I am reading it right but it appears to be a major expansion as Kath - Admin stated that its only a small complex before being expanded into this new holiday village?
To be honest i havent a clue but if i ever find out i will let you know. Maybe they will tell us when the the new pics are released.Hopefully soon!
Thanks Ellsbells, have you cheered up a bit? to be honest I am sure we are all worrying unnecessarily and its bound to be fantastic!! I went to Jamaica a few years ago and we had many worrying letters about building works etc anyway we changed the holiday and we went to a different hotel, when we got there we visited the original hotel we were booked into and was so gutted that we changed as it was fantastic and the building works were so minimal, we had transfered for the same price to the equivalent of butlins (nothing against butlins but this was too much money to spend on a butlins holiday), so this time we are going to go with it I am sure it will be worth the risk.
If you want to see the complex and the size of the extension in relation to the existing complex then have a look on google earth. I guess the image is over a year old as their are no new buildings on it but you can see the size of the site and the new pool has been dug out.

we have decided to cancel today have now booked to go to the olympic lagoon resort. We have been here before so know we will have a great holiday. Was in the travel agent 3 hours this morning trying to sort out.
Can I just ask, what was your main reason for cancelling oliday? the all inclusive restaurant part or the worry if it will be complete?
we are not lovers of buffet food and have been thinking this over for the past few days and would have ended up eating out in the evening
we could have eaten evening meals else where but that kind of defeats the object of an all inc holiday
if anybody wants our booking it is on the site now we paid 4000-00 and it is now for sale at 5400-00 so they will not be disappointed in any way
i no doubt and hope that anybody going has a lovely holiday at aliathon but we are just not prepared to take the risk
Thank you for your reply. I think I have heard of that, is that the resort in Ayia Napa?
Is anyone else close to cancelling.
I remember hearing it opens 25th May and will look forward your review. enjoy
calamity we were due to go 18th May before we changed the holiday to go to HV Turkey and had been told it opened on 4th May
so should be some reports coming through from the first people by middle of may hopefully
i hope all that goes gets the reports on would love to try again next year if reports are good

Holiday Village opens on the 4th may.
I was reading back over all the previous pages and mikew31 from page 4 said his first choice rep had said it opens on 25th May but yes, obviously that must be wrong if you were booked to go before that date! ... anyway.. yes hopefully the reviews won't be too long in coming.
We are traveling to Aliathon village in August for my 40th birthday, and we are extremly disapointed at the amount of ammendments being made, we are now down to one restaurant for the majority of our allinclusive holiday as we can only visit the a la carte restaurants once a week. I phoned FC on saturday when we received the third letter pointing listing a host of ammendments they were quite off had and pointed out the they printed on the original brochure that there may be ammendments, I could not locate this anywhere on the brochure until they pointed out that in was below the layout plan ! ! I have seen larger braile ! I have asked them to confirm the complex is now complete and to confirm this in writing, the customer service agent said they couldnt do this in writing as they would have to then write to all customers ! Why ! They have said they will call me back I await a reply !
I think the best thing to do is wait until the reviews start coming in in may.
Hi, has anyone visited any of the other Holiday Villages?
We went to holiday village viva in 2006 and it was fantastic. Kids loved it.
Hi Calamity, we have been to most of the holiday villages with dominican being the best up to now and they are fantastic especially with the kids, but im having doubts with holiday village as its seems even though im going al-inclusive im going to have to buy food etc as there aint much to choose from especially if the restaurants food aint up to scratch as from experience in the past tables arnt cleared quick enough, also they used to run out of plates knives/forks etc as most people like to eat roughly the same times so with not many restaurants not in the al-inc package it might be very busy come dinner/tea time and when you have 200 plus wanting fed it might lead to temper tantrums as there not very quick at cleaning tables for the next guests but like most people are saying lets wait for the reviews to come in im hoping they are good especially the al-inc side of things
