Hi Bighally,

If it's just beach you're after then Patara village would be your best bet. It had beautiful soft sandy beach stretching for miles, and never gets crowded. The beaches in Antalya are very nice too - wide and sandy.

On the west coast of Turkey the beaches are more shingly or rocky.

thanks for that, yes nothing to rowdy but we like to be within reach of the hustle and bustle if we want it ,we like eating out etc, acctualy we are very easilly pleased, we normally go to Goa (India) so are used to just having somwhere basic but clean to sleep and shower, other than that we are just complete beach bums!!!! :sun2

Would also recommend Akyaka for the lovely beach, and laid back atmosphere.
Also have a look at Dalyan which has a superb beach which is protected. The accommodation is a short way away, and when you go to the beach you go by boat down a beautiful river - its rumoured that the African Queen was filmed there. Although at first you may be put off by the thought of having to go by boat we found when we stayed at Dalyan it was a lovely aspect of the holiday, because the scenery is so beautiful. The beach is amazing it has lovely sand and is totally unspoilt because it is a nesting ground for turtles, so there is no buildings only a couple of huts for food and drink, and no one is allowed on the beach after a certain time (about 7 pm I think when we were there). The village has plenty of bars and restaurants for a 2 week holiday, and you can get excursions easily from there. The riverside setting for some of the restaurants is stunning!
