I wonder what HT'ers think of the announcement that you may be able to use your mobile phone in flight,
I dread it fancy sitting next to someone having to listen to them telling their Mum what they had for breakfast and what they are going to have for their dinner and other trivia .

Agree totally ,you just know it will happen and you will be sat next to someone who will be on the phone for 2 hours solid
Yes but it wll cost them a fortune I guess. From the information I have seen the phone will conect to a base station in the plane and then that will go via a satalite link back to a ground station. I cant even guess the mark up.If you have flown Emerates you can already do this via the entertainment hand set I haven't asked the price but they state they take credit cards for the charge!!
