Think I'll pack my tent !
Well you aint pitching it in my room. Not at those prices !
Just get out of 'the strip', only there are they starting to overcharge above the odds.
I also asked around when I was there last week (Candolim). The cheapest price I found was 900 rupees pn (just a room but down a dark road!), then 1,500 upwards even as much as 3000 pn! What a joke - up until last year I was paying at most 500 rupees pn (this is for just a room, no b+b or pool). Taking into consideration the high cost of flights and prices for the rooms it's cheaper for me to go package in December.
Maybe with the thinning down of the beach shacks they want to up the prices of rooms .... who knows. When it's quiet you don't put your prices up!! ..... Only in Goa.
I hate to think what they are trying to get away with in that sweat-pit the Dona Alcina.
never let rooms at those prices. They're having a laugh!!
I'd leave it till late - they will
Can't really leave it. Had previous experience at Christmas and rooms got booked up very quickly (even at those prices...). I'm actually booked up now anyway. Got decent deal at 2 pretty nice little hotels with pools in Candolim. Am moving from one to another as prices go up massively at first hotel after 22 Dec but are good up to that date. Glad that's sorted.
I wouldn't leave it - some of the places i looked at are already booked up - i wouldn't pay 3000 rupees!! dont forget the mumbai crowd come in and are willing to pay. The new 360 hotel in Candolim is about £120 pnight, nice rooms and pool (i had a swim!) but certainly wouldn't pay that, I don't pay that much for a week!
