I stayed at the adults only Golden Crown Paradise in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in March 2006 (with First Choice). We chose adults only for the same reasons as you, we wanted some peace and quiet. I suppose it depends on the location on hotel, but it was bliss not having screaming kids and very peaceful. One of our better holidays and just what we wanted. It has to be said though that the adults only title means different things in different hotels. Do your research before choosing a hotel as 'adult' activities are sometimes part of these hotels.

You have to watch who you are booking with also as their policy might be to sell to adults only, but other worldwide companies using the same hotel may not. Be sure its the policy of the hotel to have adults only and not just your tour company.
