I stayed at the Gloria Anne in Feb this year.
The location is fine, next door to the Victor Exotica, down a side road approx 50 meters from the main road, therefore no traffic noise - 2 or 3 minutes walk from the Stonehouse.
The rooms had - T.V., air ???, fridge and decorated to a good standard.
The breakfasts were O.K. fruit juice, cereal, fruit, eggs, toast and jam, tea or coffee.
The staff were attentive - rooms well cleaned, mini bar stocked daily etc.

Now the bad bit - although we went with Thomas Cook, the hotel was 90% full of Ru$$ians - there is no atmosphere at breakfast time, in the bar, (which was always deserted) at reception - in fact anywhere.
Never had an evening meal there so cannot comment on the restuarant.
The Ru$$ians do have a habit of making a lot of noise in the early hours of the morning when they are returning from their drink and drug fuelled parties.
The bottom line - would I go back to the Gloria Anne?............even though the hotel is O.K. the answer would be NO - not if theRu$$ians are there.

thats a shame-i found a good price with thomas cook for next feb.we have been to phoenix park for the last two years but the price has really gone up for next year and i thought ' sodders gloria ann' looked nice in the brochure and would be a nice alternative.that said there were a few russians at the p.p. this year.will we be able to avoid them anywhere next year?

Thanks a million at least I have some idea where it is now hopefully the R persons wont be there ...we encountered them when we spent 2 week ends at Ashvem this last Feb have never met such rude and inconsiderate people. They spoke to the locals up there as if they were dirt and I had to speak to 1 male for kicking a beach dog while she was lying in the shade feeding her pups, but of course he didnt speak English but I made sure he got the message ok ...

We met a couple who stayed there Apr 12th - 26th and they weren't keen at all. There were only 2 British couples and a lot of loud Russians, Their rooms were seventies style, with noisy A/C. They likened it to a prison block and said the staff were less than friendly. Mind you, despite this they made the most of it and seemed to enjoy their holiday.

A good Goan friend of mine told me a story about this hotel. In Candolim it has a certain reputation. Can't comment on how true the stories are but if you want to pm me I'll disclose what he told me.....
