In the many times I've been to Greece, I've rarely seen a TV in rooms and when there has been one, the channels were pretty limited. Saying that I tend to stay in self catering or small hotels, larger hotels or new holiday complexes may be different.

We are staying at the Louis Creta Princess in August and the description in the First Choice Brochure says there is a TV in the room with limited satellite stations. But, we'll be around the pool all day and out in the evening and we'd hardly use the thing anyway.

TVs are "the big thing" in Greek tourism nowadays - the last "big thing" was airconditioning. Can't guarantee that you'll have a TV but they're becoming more and more common - we even had one in our very basic room above a taverna in Agia Roumeli last year! And that was a 25 euro a night room!

Channels are pretty limited if you don't get satellite - MEGA seems to have the most variety. Thoroughly enjoyed watching Top Gear dubbed into Greek a couple of years ago.

must say that all the a/b class apart hotels and the 3*+ hotels we have stayed at, only one did not have a tv in the room, but they all only had local channels some had sky news/nbc news and one had euro sport...

Hi
We have had a TV in a couple of apartments in Greece, but usually you can only get a few channels and I dont recollect any cartoons, mainly local soaps or news.
Whilst on holiday in Cyprus last year, we noticed how well behaved some toddlers were at dinner.
It turn out they had a portable DVD players which they brought to dinner, I know everyone would not agree with that but it did the trick.
Perhaps you could use a portable DVD for your little one and take favourite cartoons with you.

The first time ever we have had a tv was in Kolymbari (chania end of Crete) in a very small set of studios.. Brand new... shower, air con and tv... All for just 14 Euros a night for the room (2 people)... amazing! The only things on were news, and daytime tv stuff like we get in the uk and of course soaps.

if you have got one a portable dvd player might be useful with some favourites to take with you.
