:I wonder if anyone could help or share experience, I have read some of the issues people have found with regard to thomas cook losing the contract with red sea hotels, We booked a holiday over a year ago with direct holidays to go to the grand resort hurghada in a junior suite on the 23rd may this year for a week, we paid the outstanding balance some 6/7 weeks ago, some 2 days later we received a letter stating that the accommodation had changed to a 4 star hotel and in a double room, we have had no offer to compensation or an upgrade room type, since this time we have been calling day and night it seems to the number given as uk operations bradford, we have left e-mails,we tried to cancel and rebook however we were told we could not do it over the phone as the prices were different and we would have to pay any difference in price(nearest holiday with same location and standard was 1.2k more expensive), we have even contacted other parts of thomas cook who have promised to get "someone to call" the final straw came when 2 days ago we received a bill for £ 100 stating they had taken off the online discount from our original holiday.As time is of the essence does anyone have any advice or direct numbers opposed to this stupid call centre who never answer.
