what can i say tamtosh,
AI all yer food and drink is included, just go to the nearest bar and get your drink and walk away, they do ice cream down at the beach bar on an afternoon as well as burgers etc same thing there just take what you want and walk away. we love going AI cos we don`t have the kids asking for money all the time and if they are hungry or thirsty you just say go and get it without having to give them money :tup it`s a lovely feeling.. you can also phone mcdonalds and they will deliver it , all you have to do is wait at the gates outside the hotel with your money and it`s cheap..

hi sue
yes we had a good holiday, i just wished there had been a bit of a breeze to make it feel a bit cooler, but you have to expect high temps over there in the summer..we are back to egypt in august this year but we are staying at the hotel we were in in June 06..

we stayed at the calimera royal moderna which is now the royal albatros moderna. its in nabq bay the opposite end of naama bay. you can walk from the pool to the beach without any steps, and with it being flat you get a lovely sea breeze which i need..especially in july/august as the temp last year hit over 50 :tongue

hi im thinking of going to sunrise garden view can anyone tell me if there are seperate showers in any rooms one of us is on crutches also can you walk from beach to paddle in sea
Reply
pauline,
the sunrise garden view is further away from the beach than the sunrise island view, the island view is beachfront but its on a cliff and there is a steep stairway down to the beach so i wouldn`t recommend it for anyone with mobility problems. you cannot paddle you have to walk along a jetty, best thing to do is ask if anyone knows of a hotel where you can go from the beach directly into the sea, i don`t think theres many because of the coral and from my experience the hotels tend to have a few steps whether it`s to get to the beach or from reception to the rooms. Naama Bay may have some but we have never been along there. i wouldn`t recommend the hotel you`re thinking of.. sorry... hope you find somewhere

hi tam,
there is hairdryers in the bathroom, your fridge is filled up once a week with pop we gave the cleaners a tip and they put a bit extra inbetween. 3/4 trousers or long shorts are ok for the resteraunt. there is a machine that takes english notes and gives you EGP, theres also a cash machine. the food is excellent and if you catch a waiter around the pool he will bring you drinks. we always tipped him so he would bring more and to be honest he deserved it cos he was sweating pints. reception has a lot of seating and we spent a lot of our time there as its air conditioned, the victoria bar is near reception but small so if you go there and ask them to bring it out to reception(where your sitting) and they will but again we felt they should be tipped for this as they were working outside there area.. hope this helps a bit. i know it sounds like a lot of tipping but once you tip they must watch for you drinking up as they appear with your drinks when you think you`ve gotta go back to the bar..

Hi,

We are going here too in July and I have a question. Are towels provided in the rooms and also for the pool / beach? I have tried asking Thomas Cook and they never get back to me.

Thanks!

Yes the towels are provided in the rooms and for the pool..

Just returned from 2 weeks here. Would agree with Mr WRB. Probably not full 5 star but we have no complaints. The staff are brilliant and yes a small tip(we gave 10LE each day to bar pool waiter Mohamoud who was excellent, 100LE to the cleaner (2 rooms) and the odd 10LE to the restaurant waiters we also gave Mohamoud the pool attendant at pool 1 50LE when we left) does go a long way.
The snorkeling was amazing absolutely out of this world. I went on a day boat trip for snorkeling but actually the water at Sunrise beat anything we saw hands down. The only downside was to get a bed at pool 1 or 2, the only pools we used, we did have to be down at 6 to 6.30 to put towels on. Not something I agree with but if you want a bed then thats what you have to do.
if you have any questions please pm me I'll do my best to answer them for you.

Getting up at 6am to put towels by the poolside is ridiculous! I wont be doing that. How about the beach, plenty of spaces there?
Does the hotel have a laundry service or any irons?
We fly out this coming Thursday, thanks.

Yes always bed available o the beach when we went down whatever time of day. There is a laundry service we had a bag in each of our rooms which you could fill have laundered and pressed for 9euros we paid in sterling one time it was £7.50 and the next £8 don't know how that works.
Hope you have a good time wish I was going back.

Me again :D one more question please if thats ok .... we are booked into a Junior Suite, any idea what they are like. There are also Executive Suites available, only 5 mind you. Any idea what they are like and is it advisable to upgrade?
Thanks againl

We had Junior Suites rooms 222 and 224. They were in a brilliant place half way between pools 1 & 2, reception, main restaurant and the beach overlooking pool 3. anyway as for size they are huge a good sized bedroom with double wardrobe and a small balcony, you may want to take a few extra hangers with you, a sitting area with a larger balcony, sofa, chair and unit housing small fridge and a tv. Loads of space to move around and to put your cases out of the way. One of my pet hates is falling over the empty cases for 2 weeks.
I would def return to Island view and request these rooms again.
Anymore questions don't hesitate to ask its a pleasure to be of assistance.

Tamtosh youre a star, thanks so much :tup
The Junior Suite seems very spacious and more than adequate.
