Hi

This is my first post so I hope I have put it in the right area. We are currently planning a holiday for July 2009 for 2 weeks, (am going to take the children out of school at the end of the summer term for a couple of days - so looking at about 15th July), the holiday will be for me, hubby and 2 children aged 10 & 7.

For the last 4 years we have gone to a Superfamily Hotel in Menorca (Victoria Playa), we love it there as it is very quiet and a safe and clean area for families, next year we thought we would try somewhere different and also we can no longer fly to Menorca from our local airport (Bournemouth) and the extra journey time to Gatwick is not great fun with 2 moaning children!

I have read about the 'hill' down to the beach and I am not too worried about that, my 2 main queries are is it worth paying the supplement for a larger room as some reviews state that they paid the extra and the room was not much bigger and also the cost of drinks/ice-creams in the hotel - everywhere I look people seem to say that it is very expensive?

Any help would be appreciated - am happy to hear good or bad experiences from anyone who has stayed there, (most reviews I have read are very good). Am looking to book holiday on Monday so look forward to your replies.
