Hi, Yes I know, I meant the Hotel Darcil had no air conditioning.
Sorry got the wrong end of the stick
I stayed at the Princess Dacil in Cristianos a couple of years ago and since I stayed there on a last minute bargain rate I was ok with it for what I paid..But to be honest if you are paying full rates at both its like comparing a Travelodge with The Savoy Hotel in London!...Have a lovely time at the Bitacora
Thank you!!!
hi we are going to the bitacora in july.wev had to take 2 rooms as our eldest is 13.we were wondering about upgrading but is it really worth it .t will cost us to upgrade 2 roos so i theres no difference id rather not .any help wud be appreciated .also do you pay for the fridge and is it empty thanks
Hi we've been to bitacora twice before first time was July 06 and we upgraded to the superior room direct with the hotel as it was much cheaper. E mailed them firstly then they replied with the cost then paid them on arrival at the hotel. Last time we were there was New Year 08 and we just had the standard room. The room looked over the front of the hotel - the room was exactly the same size just no pool view and you had to pay for the safe which was included in the superior room. The fridge is free but it is full and if you're using if for your own drinks remember and put the hotel stock back in the morning or they will charge you for it cos they check every morning. The hotel is great though you'll thoroughly enjoy it.
Hi, Did u have much noise in front of the hotel? we are going this Friday so one day to go!!!!!!!!!! Also what is driving like in Tenerife??
No it wasnt noisy and we were right over the entrance. Havent driven there myself but my husband has a couple of times and he says it's ok and you soon get used to it. Some of the junctions are a bit strange for a start. Have a lovely holiday
Hi,thanks for your reply, just finished packing my cases, leave 6.00am tomorrow.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will let you know how I get on.
As for the upgraded room we did this once and never again was simply not worth it for the money. YOu get the same size room just overlooking pool and with free pool towl use and a small dried fruit thing ( which we didn't eat ) You also get use of white towling robes which it was to hot for.
As for the rooms they are all 4 bed and sleep 4 you have the main double/twin beds for the adults and across the room there is a sofa which converts to a bed and has a pull out bed underneath so the rooms do sleep 4 for some bizare reason airtours/mytravel/direct holidays and thomascook now only show 3 room availability which is rubbish as the rooms sleep 4 i phoned up thomascook direct about this and they admitted they do have the option over the phone to book all 3 in but its just that the online options are basic which is a pain!!
The only other way round it is to book direct or through thompsons or phone airtours/thomascook or if your going away with someone else like we do book the child in to sleep in the other persons room then you have them in yours.
We always go with my parents and since the online booking system at airtours has changed and only shows the room taking 3 we have to do this now but the bitacora confirmed that the rooms sleep 4 so why thomascook/airtours have changed their system is beyond me.
I have been to the Tenerife princess, las palermas, h10 conquistador, las siesta, bourgainville playa and sol tenerife and can honestly say the bitacora is by far the better hotel for staff and food.
Hi, back from the Bitacora had a brilliant time. If anyone has any questions please ask as I only returned on Friday, so quite
hi how did you find everything .was it all ok the food ..the rooms ..etc we go in 5 weks cant wait but 1st time staying in a hotel normally go sc so a bit wary.how did you find the prices for food and drink both in the hotel and outside .thanx
im in the hotel now, fly home tomorrow after 2 weeks
the food is generally good, i found it a little repetative this time (this is my 5th stay here) but there is a good selection.
drinks in the hotel arent 2 badly priced.
large beer 2.90 euros
spirit and mixer about 5.50 (but they give u a little jug of orange juice if thats your mixer and can make it last more than one drink) spirits individually are around 3.30
soft drinks 2.10
lunch in the hotel, toasties around 3 euros, a pizza 6 euros but its fairly big, and meals at lunch from 4 to 7 euros.
its a lovely hotel, im sure you´ll have a great time.
if you like to go to the pool though, you have to be an early riser to get a poolside bed!
go on http://www.springhoteles.com ( i think thats the right website) and apply for a spring club card, you get 15% discount on all drinks and extra food purchased in the hotel, but you have to charge to your room to get this. worth it though, and just pay bill off every few days.
outside the hotel, you can get a large beer for as little as 1.20 euro in some bars if you drink john smiths type beer, thats around 3 euros a pint.
snacks for 2 to 3 euros, main meals for 5 to 12 depending where you go.
Hi, we had a room on the top floor, the 8th floor. It was a standard room which was large, we had 2 adults and 1 child. The hotel is very good, the food very good. The only negative thing was the sunbeds start being taken at 6.00am. People get the sunbeds and put their towels on them. We have never done this before but joined in with everyone else, it was the only thing that ruined our holiday. The hotel just let you get on with it. One our last week people did start removing the towels so they could have the beds, and the hotel did get involved. The prices we found were no different at the bars and resturants outside the hotel, we only ate out once so cant comment on the prices of food. We ate at the pool bar. We did spend a lot more money than we thought we would. We applied for a spring card and got 120 euros of the final bill at the hotel, but we did spend about 650 euros at the hotel over our 2 weeks stay. the drinks we found were probably on par to England, obviously the exchange rate is bad at present. We went to the north last year and found it more expensive this year. Also talking to the locals they said that everything had gone up. But it depends what you drink, we were drinking bottles of wine in the evening around the entertainment because we thought this was better value for money. So a bottle of wine was probably £9.50. but having said all his it was a very good holiday and we didn,t want to come home, it is the only hotel that I would stay in again and I can see why people go back year after year. the staff are very friendly and helpful, and they love the children. I hope this helps, any further questions I will try to answer. Have a lovely holiday I am sure you will.
hi going in 6 days cant wait .ive got a few questions again!!is the sunbed situation as bad as they say?we arnt looki.ng to be next to the pool.the fridges in the rooms..is ther any room to put any of or own stuff in .i want to put water in for our girls and my other half likes a couple of beers on the balcony at night.could we ask them to take everything out and would we then have to rent it.is there any tea making facilities in the rooms.what time is breakfast and dinner at and do you get any free drinks with breakfast ie.orange juice ,tea or coffee.how much is it to kep the room on for a couple of hours before we leave to come home.any help would be appreciated.thanks
Hotel Bitacora is a good choice, however don't think they will empty your fridge and allow you to rent it, could be wrong. No tea and coffee facilities in room though various fruit juices and hot drinks come with a good choice of breakfast food,as for reserving beds at pool area probably just like any other hotel, you have to be up early, personally I can't be bothered with it but each to there own
Hi, yes you can hire the fridge. About 2.50E a day. We put things in our fridge in the afternoon and removed them in the morning before reception came and did their checks, which they did every morning ( we were in the room when they arrived at about 11.00am). We bought bottles of water, wine ect that we wanted on the balcony in the evenings.
Hi, forgot to say that you can keep your room if you have a spring card, if not I beleive that you have to be out of your room by 12.00pm. Have fun!!
Is anyone else going around those dates with children of those ages? We were hoping for the pair of them to make friends their own age to make the holiday more interesting for them. Not that we are boring or anything but it is nice for them to make friends whilst on holiday.
Also is there plenty for them to do off the complex ie Crazy golf, family bars etc with games and competitions?
Hoping to go to the Siam Water park as it should definitely be open by then.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
