hi we are also going on the 22nd of june, with two girls 3 and 7 years so we would love it if you could put a report on when you get back please? to say what the food and kids clubs are like etc.how long are you going for?
we have heard the beach is great also their is an aqupark not to far away from the hotel, I am hoping these reviews that are not so good are just from people who pay for three star but excpet to get five star so moan about everything!!!.We hope you have a great holiday .

hope to hear soon chris and familey :cheers :sun2

I'm also a bit worried as the reviews I've read haven't been too positive! I'm not going till mid August so hopefully any problems will have been ironed out by then. However I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who visits in the meantime. Thanks

Hi, I havent stayed in this hotel, but in regards to Alcudia, it's a brilliant place for families. The hidropark in Alcudia is roughly 3 miles from your hotel. It's not as big as the waterparks down near Palma, but still great fun. There is also Go Karting along the road from there. There is a kiddies fun maze in Alcudia, trampolines, crazy golf, bars with various kids entertainment, family pedal cars, pedal boats, amusement arcades and so on.... plenty to keep you busy, and plenty for kids to spend their parents money on!
No Frills excursions which you will see advertised all over the place, offer transport to some of the other attractions on the island if you don't hire a car. Caves of Drach are worth a visit,Pirates show,Palma aquarium,Rancho grande horseriding etc etc etc
Hope you have a great time :)

May i just add that his hotel is not exactly situated in Alcudia but in playa de muro (2km outside)
I stayed at this complex back in july 2002, & as we had other members of the family staying in Alcudia we assumed we were close together, how wrong could i have been ... lol i didnt expect to be 50 mins walk away & 45 mins of that was along the main sraight road.. but we didnt have any problems with Continental park anyway... apart from the tiny bacony that is.

I often use google earth to pick my hols destinations as you can see overhead of what certain resorts are like, I must say.... the alcudia playa de muro area looks pretty clear, especially if you have already been there & you know what youre looking at.
Either way you will be fascinated with google earth if youre not aware & comes handy in more ways than one.

just looked and there are 2 new reviews for this hotel in the hotel review section of this forum.

Hi chris, now back and yes we did have a really good holiday though their are a couple of issues with the hotel one being the food which isnt great but edible no one starved and we always saw people with full plates even though they may have complained. The breakfast and dinner were better than lunch which was really just burgers/ chips and salad but again people were always eating. The hotel itself is very clean no problems there kids club fab reps really nice and friendly. The entertainment a bit hit and miss but the kids always seemed to enjoy it. All in all we met some great people small hotel so everyone knew each other and with the drink flowing we had a fab time. People did complain but its a cheap holiday and you get what you pay for. Dont go expecting a 5 star holiday and you will have a good time.
let me know if you need anymore info.

Sharon.

Ps i think more people were moaning because the weather wasnt great, if the sun shining everyone happy.

sorry to say but mozzies were a problem, loads of people were being bitten but i was prepared after reading that Alcudia had a problem so i had a plug in for the room and we used a good repellent which seemed to work as we only had a few bites between us. We were told that because the weather was very wet when we were there that it was worse than normal so you should be okay for later on.

Hi sharon

Thankyou for putting the repley on,we like you didnt expect 5 star for 3 star prices were happy if we can pick somthing to eat?
What was the exchange rate like for cash?
Do you think we will need lots of extra spending money, did you go on any trips while you were their?
were you in a familey room ?we have booked a twin with bunk beds just wanted to know what they were like?
We hope they had a great varity of DRINKS as we need a few stiff one all the stress of this holiday.
Also was the air con any good?
Was the weather very mixed while you were their?
Thankyou for all the heip you are giving us it is apprecated.

Hi, you shouldnt need too much money unless you go on a few trips which can be pricey, also eating out is about the same as here so again take more if you think you might like a break from the hotel. Our room had bunks and they are quite small so we didnt spend too much time in there but their is loads of storage and they are clean. Air con is good but its controlled by the hotel so it goes off at certain times but it wasnt a problem. Drinks are varied, the lager, wine and soft drinks are self service just spirits behind the bar which saved any queues. drinks are served in the small plastic glasses so a few people had brought plastic pint glasses from home but beware the lager seemed quite strong. Not sure about the exchange for cash as we took euro chqs so they just took a small commission from us. Must say that we found the hotel very safe to let kids play as the whole pool area is sealed and gated so the only way out is through the front of the hotel. weather wasnt good but we were unlucky it will get better and better now so wont be a problem. We only did one trip to the local waterpark but the ones in the south of the island seemed to be much better and not too much more expensive so if you dont mind travelling i would recommend them instead. Hope this helps.

Glad to hear someone has been recently and enjoyed themselves, makes you feel better about going. I think you will always get people moaning about something and if its the food so be it, I'm sure we won't starve. As long as the rooms are clean, I'm not bothered, won't be in them for long anyway. Are there any gardens for sunbathing or is it just by the pool?

Thanks
Sharon

No gardens for sunbathing but terrace is really big and they have loads of loungers and umbrellas so plenty of room.

Thanks, didn't fancy 'fighting' for sunbeds and would have been quite happy out of the way in the garden somewhere. It doesn't look or sound like a big hotel so wishful thinking really I suppose.
Glad to hear you had a good time, I was getting really worried about the negative reviews, so now going to go with an open mind and who knows by August they could have really got themselves sorted out.
