we have taken both sterling and dollars and also used the ATMs and paid a few things with the credit card. I can't honestly remember taking TCs. We certainly didn't do it the second time.

We have decided to take a combination of TC's, cash & credit cards. Between all three we should be ok.

best idea. Its always best not to rely on one method

We used a debit card in the ATM,Banco De Brasil seemed to be the best,you went inside the bank to use it and there were security guards all over the place.

There was one bank that charged you R$10 everytime you used it,cant remember the name,but we only used it once!

Just booked again last night to go back again in 3 weeks time
