I've spent Christmas in El Gouna for the last 2 years and had a great time. It's warm enough to sunbathe (if you get out of the breeze), but it gets a little chilly at night.

AI or SC, well I hate AI and SC is too much work. Most hotels offer half board, but you should really try for B&B. this gives you a chance to sample some of the restaurants in El Gouna.
