Just has to be 'Anoranza por la Conga' by Sur Caribe! Has me back in Santiago da Cuba at Carneval time in an instant.
but should i need a holiday song then it should be either
"Little old wine drinker me" or "busy doing " because both fit admirably with my holiday style
My favourites are (especially if I'm singing them on karaoke) are Simply the best, Flash dance, and Hopelessly devoted to you. If it's just for a dance, anything that I can smooch too with hubby!!!
the song that brings back the funniest holiday memories for me is Roy Orbison's "Penny Arcade". It was the night of hubby's birthday and our first night on hols in La Cirrahuels, Costa del sol this Easter. We were all enjoying a few bevies, non more so than hubby who was on the pernod. To say we were the entertainment that night is no exaggeration. The entertainment duo had us all marching around the bar with drums, tamborines, trumpets, recorders etc etc. It was hilarious and a night not to be forgotten.
One more chance - James Morrison - heard it in a bar in Calangute in Goa and loved it immediately, now it always reminds me of Goa - love it
Saturday Night - Wigfield - takes me back to the 90's and great times in Ayia Napa - Cyprus
Bamaleo by the gipsy kings..
Zorba the Greek this year. Our hotel was close to a jetty and everytime one of the boats came back from it's excursion it played this while people disembarked. It was a novelty at first but two times a day got a bit tediuos after the holiday. Few days after we returned, Mick came home form work and asked me to ring his mobile to check where it was...........................DaDing........DaDing........DaDaDaDaDiiiing.!!!!!!!! Aaaaaaagh!
OHHH you old romantic you Marlou
Viva Espana- takes me back to the good old days, 1970
It reminds me of our friends bar in Albufeira
(Got it as a ring tone on my phone now -allocated to my hubby - and
everytime he rings me, I'm right back there in Albufeira...how sad is that? )
That one by 50 cents, not sure of the title, its something like 'in da club' and party like its your birthday.... happy memories
sweet caroline, always some numpty sings it wether its kareoke or not !!!
I've probably got the same tape by Tarkan. The only kiss kiss song is by Tarkan. Long hot days and nights in Turkey. Not that one by Holly Valance!!
I listen to my tape every time I do the ironing.
Emma
Im glad Im not the only Tarkan fan . We should start a fan club
Im just going to do some housework, must get my tape out
The real thing - you to me are everything.
always get someone singing that on kareoke
ohh and not forgetting zorba

I got engaged on Christmas day a couple of years ago in Benidorm at the Terralta. I asked the DJ to play "All I want for Christmas is You" he said he hadn't heard of it!!!!!!! but later on he said he had found something and hoped it was the right record. He then proceeded to play "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" I don't know whether it counts as a holiday song?
Starkey babe! That is class!
Kiss Kiss for me too .reminds of our first visit to Turkey many years ago when the staff used to dance to it standing on the Pool bar at the Asena beach. Day and night they were always on that bar . In the evening the guests would join them too. dont hear it so much nowadays . It has to be the original Tarken track though . I still liked the holly valance version but it has to be the real thing in Turkey So many dance tracks that have always been played around the pool ."pump it up" was another one .
Irishcoleen, I've only been married 15months, so It's early days, ask me in a few years!!! It'll probably be anything I can dance to with my friends!!!!
