Hello mandy

Deet based mosquito repellents are known to offer the longest duration against mosquito bites as opposed to soy-bean and IR. Thus as an individual on the ground, I'd recommend a deet based repellent of a higher percentage concentration. A 20% concentration should give you about five hours of protection.

Thanks.

We used Jungle Formula Tropical when we were there, plus mossie bands. I don't remember being bitten at all.

Get the highest level of Deet possible, and use it religiously.

I'm with Corinne76, JF has a higher concentration of DEET, if you pick up the right one. The higher the better, as well as taking anti-malarial medication. Plus I burn locally bought mosquito coils on balconies/by windows, and also buy a good "knock-down" repellant wherever I go (Raid seems to be availbale in many destinations).
