Hi everyone, we are thinking of going to the Villa Nicholas 2nd week in October, can't find much information on it though, it's with Direct Greece. We are 2 adults and 2 ,16 year old teenage boys. Have been to Lindos before so know what it's like but never in October. Can anyone help with
1. weather, what should we expect?
2. How busy will it be?
3. Will everything still be open?
4. Has anyone stayed at Villa Nicholas, and what's it like (truth please)
thanks
Can nobody help me
we went a few years ago at the same time. We had lovely weather. I had taken cardies for night but didn't need them, however we were told it was unusually mild at night. Nothing seemed to have closed apart from a night club. Shops were running down their stock of course. It is always busy with daytrippers but just right at night Lindos is beautiful.
Ivyok - Did you stay at the Nicholas? We're looking to book a villa for next year.
The bathroom is very old, there are crazy blue tiles which you could put up with if they hadn't been 'fixed and filled' with bright blue paint to try and cover the grime, there's a hole in the wall where there obviously was a bidet at some time. The cistern was broken in half so had a great big hole on top, overall generally it was grubby in that way that can never be properly cleaned. The best bit though is the smell, which goes from a constant pong to an unbearable stench at times, I bought bleach, air freshner and toilet freshener to basically just try and cover the smell enough to be in the room. As all the rooms lead into the courtyard it meant the bathroom was not connected by another room so we kept the door open to the fresh air day and night, except when we ate breakfast and the smell was too bad, at which point we closed it. We did have a visitor one night too, which the maintenance man sorted by ramming polythene up the drain pipe!
Good points, it's great in that you have the courtyard and can do a lot of outside living, all the rooms lead off this, the main sala room is big, the other bedroom a good size too, plenty storage, very friendly maid, minutes from bars, restaurants etc, kitchen ok, with a full cooker, fridge freezer etc.
It would be great if it were not for the bathroom and if it was ripped out and refitted I would definitely go again, but not with the current bathroom.
Hope this helps.
Oh Jeez - I'll rule that one out then!!
Stayed at Villa Nicholas about this time . Weather still good but cooler at nights also more chance of thunder storms. Liked this villa trying to book this year without success it is now with Thomas Cook . Great Lindian House
