hi just got back yesterday has a fab two weeks the weather was a constant 35/37 degrees, i stayed in the elena hotel a two minute walk from party street. the food was not very good we were all inclusive breakfast was scrambled egg (half cooked) hotdogs, boiled eggs, hard poached eggs, and bread to make your own toast, there was also cereal and cakes lots of them for breakfast haha, lunch was normally veal and pork with potatoes or chips, there was a salad bar also and more cakes the left over meat we had for dinner was thrown into a sauce for evening meal it was very repetative, the hotel its self was nice and clean but full of germens and russians and spanish, i have never met so many rude people in my life the jumped in front of you all the time when you waiting to be served expecially for food and the bar was always three deep and they would not even move to let you get served wich was very dissapointing, we ate out most of the time but found it expencive at the old steak house on the front we were offered the best steaks promised it was beef but it had never seen a cow in its life it wasnt very nice we also had to order the chips and sauce seperate the bill came to 124lev that was for 2 steaks and 2 pizza 2 coke n 2 beers the service was with a smile though, the other resteraunt we went to was the wealthy place a chinese further up party street now that was expencive and the food was disgusting we left the majority of it the ribs were very salty the chow mein was pasta and cabbage in soy sauce the lemon chiken was nice and the curry did not have an ounce of curry powder in it very dissapointed it was 7lev for prawn crackers that were burnt
hence the reason we did not tip
but the most dissapointing thing was every day and night was running the gauntlet of people giving out flyers and people standing with menus nearly forcing you into there resteraunts nearing the end of our holiday we were so peed off we stayed in hotel as it was so tiresome to pass by them, the first morning i was up at 5am and stood out in the balcony saw a lot of dogs lying in the street a woman passed by them and they attacted her biting at her legs she was screaming for help a concierge from our hotel ran out and threw stones at them the lady was taken into the hotel her trousers were ripped after that i never let the kids out at all got such a fright, the good things were it was so clean and the bulgarian people friendly but persistant haha we went to see an elvis show so if you thoght he was dead he aint he he is alive and well living in bulgaria it was a great show and worth seeing the guy was such a laugh it was across from the imperial hotel dont buy the ouzo tho as for 4 it cost 38lev :duh, there is still a lot of building work going on and big hotels going up everywhere the wee train was good 2lev each and every 5minutes the beach was lovely and the water warm and clear the parasols and 2 beds cost 25lev per day, i got some great photos and will post them on here, all in all we had a great time, dont let any of my comments put you off as its different for everyone..
