We are looking to take our 8 year son to the Algarve. He is disabled and uses a manual wheelchair. Has anyone got suggestions for the most 'disabled friendly' resort - ie fairly level everywhere, and ideally with a reasonably accessible beach.
Thanks...
http://www.player.pt we stayed at the Gill Apartment which is only a very short walk from a beautiful accessible beach. The beach is equipped with special wheelchairs to go in the sea. The apartment is two bedroomed and absolutely wonderful. It has a walk in shower with a seat. The terrace is huge and has a hot tub! Quarteira is very flat with a lovely long promenade. Obviously, as with most of Europe there are not many dropped kerbs but we managed fine.It comes alive at night with entertainers of all kinds. The resort is very Portuguese and you will not find many Brits there but the people are very friendly and helpful. Let me know if you want any more information.
