I wonder if anyone can help.
We are thinking of going to Greece or one of the islands for a holiday but my husbnad is Turkish and I wasn't sure what Greek people would be like to a Turk. Does anyone have any idea what kind of reception he would get there? Or if any islands would be best avoided?
I don't think that you need worry. Although there is a history of tension between the COUNTRIES, I don't think that this would be directed at an individual. Tensions have reduced dramtically over the last few years and many islands in the East Aegean have regular boats to and from Turkey.
many of the west and south coast Turks acknowledge their Greek history , many of the Greeks i know also acknowledge the turks as kindred folk, some of the Aegean and deaconess islands still have ex-turks among their population
