Good evening! My first post on here.
I've been looking up holidays for next year and the prices on different websites vary. Obviously I want to go with the cheapest option but I also want to go with a company I 100% trust.
Do all travel agents price match? How does it work? What do I do?
I probably sound really dumb but I don't want to go into the travel agents and embarrass myself.
Thanks
the bigger companies usually price match i seen it on the net at tompson and the shop gave me it at the same price it was £100 cheaper and they matched it you should just ask they can only say they will match or they wont the more you ask the cheaper you might get
hope you have some luck
Denny
think it depends on the difference , i got a price over phone for benidorm 1st 2 weeks in july of next year to flamingo oasis for 2 adults and 3 kids for just over 2700 with mytravel, went into thomas cook shop near me to see if i could get same price with them as it would be easier to pay into shop every week and they wouldnt entertain me as it was over 1000 more on their system.
I've been looking up an AI holiday 1st June to Nergis Beach Hotel Turkey for 2 Adults.
The difference in price from one high street travel agent to another is around £145. Now I've found online a company that will do it £435 cheaper and includes private taxi transfers.
Do you think if I went to a high street travel agent would they price match an online company? £435 is a big difference, I'd be a bit red faced if they didn't match that.
It's the same dates, same hotel and same departure airport.
Thanks
I've recently had Co-op Travelcare beat a price for me. It definately all depends on how much cheaper the online price is to the one if booked through the travel agents. £435 seems a hell of a difference though and I'd be surprised if they could match it. Having said that though if you don't try you'll never know. Just tell them you've popped in on the off chance to see.
I found a holiday on line with Olympic Holidays at a price I was happy to pay but popped in the shop to see if they could beat it. They checked out the price first themselves on the internet by using the Olympic site as you or I would, I assume just to make sure I wasn't blagging them! They then checked their price using their own systems and it was coming out about £25 per person more expensive. I thanked them for their time but said I'd leave it and book it myself but they then asked me would I be willing to book that same day if they could match the price. I said it was just as easy for me to do it from the comfort of my own home at which stage they then said they could better it, only by about fifteen pounds but it all counts!
Good luck!
Steve
Tomorrow I am going to be down town so I'll go into the agents and see what prices they come up with. I think £435 is a massive difference if they can't match I'll just book with the online operator, take the risk.
