Thanks tinkerbell-two, at least that's a little reassuring! We will cross each other then as we arrive on the 16th. It is also our 3rd year there this year and my brothers 5th year.

Some friends of ours have just got back from Egypt, one of their party became ill on the 3rd day of being there for 2 weeks and is still ill now. Have you seen the solicitor reports, it's got Costa Del Sol and Egypt on there.

hi courecf
have been keeping up to date with tummy bug reports seems to be more to do with the heat than bad hygiene but taking plenty of precautions nevertheless.

Hiya,
I think now it is a case of heat and 'general' holiday bugs. It was just strange how many people were coming down with it. Hope no one catches anything whilst being away.
Enjoy your holiday in Egypt. (we went for our honeymoon to Sharm and it was fantastic) stayed at the Concorde though not holiday village.

Hi all,

Am at the HV as we speak 45 degrees today so blooming hot!!!

As of yet, have not heard of anyone here at the moment complaining of stomach problems. Can agree that it could all be a heat thing. Lots of red people walking around and children who should be covered up and not playing in the sun, carrying on like its a summers say back in England.

No compalints whatsoever except the queue for the beach club each morning. Its a stampede but gotta be done if you want a brolly. Given the temps at the moment, its imperative.

Will post full report when back in the UK but generally, don´t think you have anything to worry about if you are coming out within the next couple of weeks. Enjoy!!!!

For those of you who are worried about the temperature mitchy has quoted, take off 10 degrees! The temperature during the day is around 35 degrees (which is still extremely hot) but is bearable.

Sorry to disagree with you Wanakalou but the temp I quoted was correct. Local TV was giving out a severe weather warning on Friday to say that temps were going to be well into the 40 for the next 10 days and 45 was the temp yesterday given on site, in local shops and on the tv. I know where you are coming from but believe me these temps are accurate.

Been to the Croc park today and it is a good half day out. We went on the local train, as the buses were on strike today, and had a good 2 hours there. Picture taken with a baby croc not to be missed.

Can honestly say that we have had a really good time here and am not looking forward to coming hom on Friday. Still have not heard of anyone with any tummy bugs today.

Enjoy.

Sorry mitchy, I live here - about 7 mins drive away from the holiday village! My friend has one of the villas right next door to the holiday village. Not only can we see the bedrooms from her garden but we also get the same temperatures ;) You are probably looking at the weather forecasts for inland, they are always 10 degrees more. In fact today was a glorious day, not quite so humid and this evening is extremely pleasant.

I really have no desire to get into a debate about the weather, but the one thing I don't want is to worry people coming out about extreme temperatures :yikes

I rest my case!

Thanks for the reassurance about sickness ... and the weather. It's rainy, dull and miserable here so sunshine and heat of any sorts will be a welcome break!

Don't wish to sound a pedant, but according to official figures, taken at Malaga Airport, the hottest temperature last month was 104F (40C) on July 26. This month started with a 38C high on the 1st and 2nd, followed by 32C every day since. Current temperature today is again 32C.

Izzy sunbeds is probably the only real complaint we have at the HV. We use the beach club each day and have to start to queue at 9 in the morning. It doesn´t open until 10!!! Its a bit of a scram but got to be done if you want a brolley.

Apparently people who are at the main pool are having the same sorts of problems all beds are apparently gone by 8!!

Sorry but think you will have to get up extremely early if it carries on as it is. They really do need to get a lot more sunbeds and brollies over here.

Another scorcher of a day today but not complaining!!

OMG MITCHY 9AM for the beach club!!! i can just imagine the q stretchin back to the dj box, lol! - is this for beds/umbrellas at the bottom pool or all the beach club?? love the place back next year for 4th visit, lol!

Last year we had to be up and down by the main pool for 8 to get a sunbed and umbrella. Think it's going to be the same this year.
We fly on the 16th for 2 weeks.

Well here I am, back from the HV to rain, wind and more washing than a Chinese laundry!!!

As previously stated, I will give a brief outline of the HV and do a full hotel report.

Firstly, to reassure all of you going out within the next week or so, there was absolutely no reports of any stomach problems during our two week stay; even at airport yesterday speaking to people generally, no one had any problems so really do think (hope!) that the problem has now gone away. Not once during our stay did we have problems with undercooked meat or food not being hot. Did see two adults (on separate occasions tasting various dishes using the same fork after it had been in their mouths - now children maybe but not adults!).

As already stated, the beach club q was a nightmare each morning and on Thursday people were jumping the fences to get to the brollies/beds quicker. It beggers belief. We were of the opinion that we would queue and see where we got and most mornings we got where we wanted so just think its this British mentality that you have to run/push whatever to get where you want. Lukebec you are right, the queue was back to the snack bar each morning!! And it was for anywhere at the beach club. The new Polynesia hotel is due to open next summer and they have got some serious work to put in to get enough beds etc for the amount of people that will be staying there.

Thursday and Friday were still very hot but a nice breeze was blowing. You have to give cc details or a 100 euro deposit on arrival for your remote control (tv), beach towels and to cover any incidental expenses you might incur. All inclusive stops at 12 noon on day of departure which is unfair if you have a late flight.

Rooms were cleaned everyday adequately, clean towels every day and sheets every two days. All staff very curteous and friendly and one bar chap even remember us from 4 years ago = very impressive!!

Any questions feel free to ask.

Hey Mitchy,

Glad you have a great time!
We go on Sat, and can't wait. It has been said in reviews that you can't go into the beach club restaurant for lunch with bare shoulders. Do you know if this just means men can't go bare top?
Also we have never had a problem before at Perla restaurant but are 3 quarter trousers still ok for men at dinner?
Thanks

Curecf: haven't had a chance to post a full hotel review as of yet - sorry!

Beach club restaurant at lunchtime is all diners must have top halves covered. Vest tops are fine for both men and women. It states on information sheet when you arrive that its long trousers or smart 3/4 length for men but we saw many men going in to the evening meal in day time shorts!! They were in the minority mind. So 3/4 are fine.
