Stayed at this hotel earlier this year, typical Movenpick in that it is meticulously clean, food is great (breakfast buffet), however beach and access into the water not so good in that it's not so much sand as grit and very stoney (do not forget your jelly shoes!), pleasant stroll to Downtown area.
This is a really nice hotel, we visited it although were staying at the Hilton. Preferred the Hilton because of it's location, but both were lovely. El Gouna is a purpose built resort, much like Sharm, therefore not a lot of character, but we liked it. We have been to Egypt and quite a few resorts many times because it is excellent value and a good climate, but the Nile cruise and Luxor are probably my favourites. There are two areas to visit-'downtown' and the Marina, in El Gouna, both nice to have a stroll around in the evenings.
