We've just booked our apts for end next Feb and usually we stay at the Bitacora but thought we'd have a change this time and are staying in the lomas Verdas complex which is in the Mojones part. Quite high up and yes we realise a nice hill to walk up each time, but we dont really mind that.
Before we were mid resort and practically stayed along the main front, but as we are in old town area this time, does anyone have any good suggestions for nice places to eat and which would the best bars be within this area. I guess we would be walking from the top down towards the harbour. (down that steep hill)!!!!!!!
cheers Jan
Hi, There is a fab restaurant called Puerto Viejo in the old town. It is lovely overlooking the habour. It is not the cheapest of places, but you get what you pay for. We always go about 3 or 4 times when we are in Lanza, as the food is wonderful the service great and it is just lovely overlooking the habour with a nice bottle of wine watching the world go by!! They are also very good with our 2 year old daughter (not sure if you have children).
The best one I found when I was last there was opposite a Scottish bar, just down from the modern mall. Sorry can't remember the name of it.
I would post a link to their website, but this forum will not allow me to do so. If you do a search for the CanaryNightlife forum, you'll find some good links to this restaurent there.
Just nice to know of a couple to go to in the old town area and maybe up the hill a bit just so on our first night as we dont arrive til about 8pm we can just pop out for a quick couple not toofar away!
cheers Jan
The best place we have found in the harbour area is Mar Casa Benito.
We were in PDC in March (and just booked to go back for 2 weeks in October!). We were staying near the casino but went to the old town a couple of times and there was a very good steak house - can't remember its name but if you walk from the shopping centre down the hill towards the harbour it's on the left. There's usually a queue outside so you shouldn't miss it. We also went to a couple of bars just a bit further down the hill from the restaurant, can't remember their exact names but there were about 4 or 5 all together (I think of them was called Bourbon Street or something similar?). Can't wait to get back there.
I think it's called La Cascada - we've had some lovely meals in there, the steaks are excellent.
