We were in the "Los Faroles" restaurant on Friday night and had one of the best meals we've had in many years at the resort. It's on the seafront just opposite the marina entrance. Over the years we've walked past many times, always saying...we must try that place. Well we did and it was a pleasure.

BTW...my view on "Stay" restaurant on the marina is...hmmm...don't stay. My son treated us to a special meal there in 2007 and based on that I would not return. The service was slick but off-hand and impersonal, on requesting a hi-chair for my grandson we were informed that they "did not possess such a thing" and were provided with a booster-cushion (for a 1 year-old !). The food was sparse "designer food" that looked like an oil-painting rather than a meal, and it was very expensive for what was on the plate.
The location is terrific, but otherwise not impressive.

Are there any supermarkets in pollensa? And are they reasonable price? someone said that a loaf of bread was £4 is it really that expensive now in pollensa?

There are lots of small "SPAR" shops all around town and also three large supermarkets, two of them "EROSKI" and a "HYPER".
The large Eroski is at the roundabout on the main Pollensa road as you enter town from Pollensa direction. The smaller Eroski is on the same road about 100 metres up from the roundabout at the Marina/Bus Stop/Taxi rank. The Hyper is on a side street called "V.Buades" which leads off of the Pollensa road...

This summer we regularly bought a "French stick" type of bread at anything from 60 cents to Euro 1.20 (depending on size and shop).
A brown wholemeal loaf could be got from the large Eroski for less than 2 Euros. Never did see a loaf at the price you quote. Prices have certainly gone up in the last year, not helped at all by the fall in value of the Pound (last year 140 Euros cost 99 Pounds, this September it cost 118 Pounds). However, I noticed that the price increases were in the shops, whereas most restaurants/bars were holding to very small increases or none at all. Having said that I reckon if you stick to local produce then shopping is still cheaper in Mallorca vs the UK. We'll be back next year as always.
